Jakarta– PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) South Operations Area (DOBS) has been awarded the Gold category in the Indonesian SDGs Awards (ISDA) 2024 for its sustainable innovation in the Semur Cendawan Program (Semai Jamur dengan Cerdas dan Berwawasan Pangan). The ISDA 2024 awards ceremony was held on November 28, 2024, at the Raffles Hotel Jakarta, attended by prominent business leaders, government officials, and leading industry players in Indonesia.
At this prestigious event, PHKT was recognized for its support and contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the economic pillar, which focuses on community empowerment through implementing appropriate technology and innovation that positively impacts society and the environment.
The Semur Cendawan Program introduced by PHKT successfully brought forward several applied technological innovations to enhance productivity in mushroom cultivation. These innovations not only emphasize production efficiency but also uphold principles of sustainability and environmental preservation. Technologies implemented in this program include BUMANTARA (Pengkabutan Rumah Cendawan dengan Semprotan Terencana), which precisely manages humidity in mushroom cultivation houses to optimize growth. Additionally, the SEMENJANA innovation (Sterilisasi Media Jamur dalam Bejana) utilizes the company's non-hazardous waste as a more efficient and environmentally friendly sterilization medium than conventional methods. Moreover, the JELITA stove (Jelantah untuk Energi Hibrida Terbarukan), which combines used cooking oil and solar energy to produce renewable energy, is also applied in the production process.
Dharma Saputra, Head of Communication Relations & CID Zona 10 PHKT, expressed joy at receiving the award. "This award is not just an achievement but also a motivation for us to continue innovating in implementing innovative and sustainable community empowerment programs. We hope this success can inspire more parties to contribute to more inclusive and environmentally friendly development," he said.
Dharma added that these innovations encourage local economic empowerment through appropriate technology while preserving nature by managing resources wisely. "The Semur Cendawan Program is a concrete example of how the industrial sector can contribute to sustainable and environmentally friendly community development," he concluded.
The development and empowerment of communities through the Semur Cendawan Program align with achieving SDGs, precisely Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and Goal 13 (Climate Action).
