Balikpapan - PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) held emergency drill in the Southern Operational Area (DOBS) of Lawe-Lawe Terminal, North Penajam Paser (PPU) (08/06).

The drill was carried out by the PHKT Emergency Management Team (PKD), which consisted of the Company's management and related teams. The scenario in this drill is in the form of a lightning strike against the Lawe Lawe terminal facility causing smoke and casualties. Through this scenario, the PHKT PKD Team is expected to be able to identify the potential for this incident and the possible impacts and escalation so that they can develop an appropriate mitigation plan.

HSSE PHKT Manager, Sidik Mastrilianto, said that the training aims to provide an understanding of emergency response procedures and train the PKD team's readiness in dealing with disasters and implementing emergency crisis management both internally and externally quickly and accurately. “Safety is a top priority in all of the Company's operations and business activities. Therefore, this emergency drill activity is one of the Company's efforts to ensure the safety of workers, business partners, and the community in the Company's operational areas," explained Sidik.

PHKT collaborates with all stakeholders to protect the safety and security of people, the environment, and company assets which are vital national objects. "As stated in the Pertamina Group Emergency MoU, in this emergency drill activity, we simulated communication lines and coordination with Pertamina Refinery Unit (RU) V Balikpapan which was manifested in the form of the fire truck and foam support for fire fighting according to the scenario," he added.
