Jakarta- PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) and PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) through their Compliance & Board Support - Relations divisions, held a Dissemination of Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP) Policies and Training Induction SNI ISO 37001:2016 for their Goods and Services Provider Companies (vendors) and customers. It was an online event and was attended by PHI’s and PHM’s vendors and customers (10/1).

Attended by around 150 participants, this event manifests company’s commitment to develop anti-bribery culture and to implement Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in PHI, as well as to encourage every  vendor and customer to take part in embodying the main principles of AKHLAK as corporate culturey.

PHI’s Senior Manager of Relation, Farah Dewi, in her speech encouraged vendors and customers to get ISO 37001:2016 certification on Anti-Bribery Management System, to instill an anti-bribery culture in their own organizations. With such standards, potential bribery can be detected early on so that the organization/institution can take necessary precautions. Furthermore, Farah described that PHI has a system to report suspectedly inconsistent with GCG activities. “PHI puts in place a reporting mechanism through Whistle Blowing System, should any vendor or customer knows or has any suspicion of corruption, bribery, conflict of interest, theft, fraud, and violation perpetrated by PHI and PHM Officers,” concluded Farah.

The material on SMAP Policies was presented by Hasti Rachmawati as the Manager of Compliance & Board Support in PHI. The presentation covered: PHI and PHM SMAP Guidelines, PHI and PHM basic integrity principles, Commitment to support SMAP implementation, and deeper understanding of Gratification, Bribery, and Blackmail.

The training induction was delivered by Pauline Arifin, the Co-Founder and Director of SustaIN, (certified) Lead Auditor of Anti-Bribery Management System ISO 37001:2016. In this session, she presented a report from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners regarding several topics, including: the current state of corruption, causes of corruption, ISO 37001:2016 Policy in Indonesia, regulations pertaining to corporate corruption, effects of corporate corruption, and implementation of ISO 37001:2016 in the company.
