Balikpapan– PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) officially launched the PERTIWI Community (Perempuan Pertamina Tangguh Inspiratif Wibawa Integritas) on Friday, November 22, 2024. This initiative aligns with the company's commitment to diversity and gender equality in the workplace. The inauguration marks a significant milestone for PHKT in its ongoing efforts to empower female employees in its working environment.
The PERTIWI Community was established with a bold vision to promote gender equality, prepare female leadership cadres, and contribute significantly at the corporate, national, and global levels.
In his remarks, Yoseph Agung Prihartono, General Manager of Zona 10 PHKT, emphasized that the PERTIWI Community is designed to catalyze the company's advancement through empowering women in the workplace. "Through PERTIWI, we hope that female employees in Zona 10 can continue to enhance their competencies and contribute positively to their families, the company, society, and the nation," said Yoseph.
Yoseph described the formation of PERTIWI as a strategic step for PHKT to strengthen women's roles in achieving corporate goals and fostering sustainable social contributions. He also highlighted various challenges still faced by women in the workplace, such as barriers to strategic positions and unequal treatment. With the establishment of PERTIWI, the company aims to create synergy between women and men to achieve a more significant impact on corporate progress.
The establishment of the PERTIWI Community implements directives from Emma Sri Martini, the Finance Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) and Chairperson of PERTIWI, who has encouraged the formation of similar communities across all subholdings and subsidiaries within the Pertamina Group.
Mangisi Herawati, Chairperson of PERTIWI Zona 10 PHKT, stated that the community would execute various development programs, including capacity building for female employees, leadership preparation, and social contributions at national and global scales. Key programs include womenpreneur initiatives and strengthening both external and internal partnerships.
"With the formal establishment of the PERTIWI Zona 10 management, we hope this community will serve as a platform to empower women to achieve leadership positions and create an inclusive, empowering, and relevant learning space that aligns with the challenges of the modern workplace," said Mangisi.
As part of the event, PERTIWI Zona 10 hosted an inspiring session titled "Happiness is The New Rich," delivered by Mira Tripuspita, VP of Business Support for Regional 2 Java. Mira underscored the importance of women's voices in strategic decision-making. "Women do not only think about themselves but also play roles as mothers, daughters, wives, and integral members of society. This perspective adds irreplaceable value across various aspects of life," she explained.
