As a responsible member of the society, PHI provides disaster and emergency assistance for the government and communities to maintain safety and human dignity.
In the aftermath of the Lombok earthquake in 2018, which resulted in the loss of life and thousands of damaged buildings, we delivered aid in the form of medicine, foodstuffs, clothing, and tents.
Our aid also reached North Sulawesi districts and cities that were hit by earthquake, tsunami, and liquefaction – they were distributed to Donggala, Palu, Parigi Moutong, Sigi, Poso, Tolitoli, and Mamuju. We also dispatched SAR Teams—consisting of rescue and medical personnel—and Support & Logistics Teams. We delivered similar assistance to victims of the tsunami caused by the eruption of Anak Krakatau in the Sunda Strait that hit the coastal areas of Banten and Lampung at the end of 2018. For these two disasters, we provided a total of Rp2.7 billion worth of assistance. Furthermore, through the PHI Peduli program, we provided post-disaster assistance in the form of clean water facilities, clothing, and tents.
We also help in the mitigation of local disasters, such as delivering aid for flood victims in Jakarta, Samarinda, Balikpapan, and South Kalimantan, and assistance for fighting forest fires in East Kalimantan.
We are committed to providing humanitarian assistance as part of our corporate social responsibility program . In the early 2021, PHI collaborated with Pertamina Group Kalimantan to distribute 13,250 face masks as a mean to prevent transmission of COVID-19 pandemic in Balikpapan.
