Penajam – PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) participated in the World Cleanup Day (WCD) Indonesia 2025, which carried the theme “Towards a Clean Indonesia 2029.” As part of the event, PHKT conducted cleanup and waste-sorting activities in its Southern Operational Area (DOBS), specifically at the Penajam Supply Base (PSB) Warehouse and Lawe-Lawe Terminal in Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan, on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

The activity involved PHKT DOBS workers and business partners. All results of the cleanup were documented and reported in accordance with the national WCD 2025 mechanism. At the PSB Warehouse, the activities focused on cleaning office areas, drainage systems, the front area of the main office, docksite areas, and surrounding grounds, along with grass trimming. Meanwhile, at the Lawe-Lawe Terminal, cleanup and waste-sorting efforts were carried out across various key locations, including the Main Office Building, Construction Area, Blasting Workshop, Messhall, File Center, General Services, Security Post, Laboratory, FERT, Asset Integrity, and First Aid Station.

Superintendent Production Lawe-Lawe PHKT, Syamsul Arifin, reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to implementing sustainability principles in managing the social and environmental impacts of its upstream oil and gas operations. “PHKT’s participation in World Cleanup Day 2025 aligns with the sustainability policies of PHE and PT Pertamina (Persero). We are committed to running initiatives that support emission reduction, energy efficiency, waste management, flora and fauna conservation, and the adoption of new and renewable energy in our operations,” said Syamsul.

He emphasized that World Cleanup Day serves as an important reminder that the Company and the upstream oil and gas industry are not only focused on energy production but also bear responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and environmental preservation within operational areas. “Through this activity, PHKT contributes directly to the goal of a Clean Indonesia 2029,” he added.

This year’s WCD Indonesia initiative follows Circular Letter No. 5.1053/A/G/PLB.0.3/B/09/2025, issued on September 8, 2025, by the Ministry of Environment and the Environmental Control Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. A similar directive was also issued by the Regent of Penajam Paser Utara, encouraging active participation from government agencies, local leaders, schools, companies, and community groups in the nationwide event. “We fully support the government’s initiative by taking part directly through cleanup and waste-sorting activities in our operational areas,” Syamsul continued.

Head of Communication Relations & CID Zona 10, Dharma Saputra, emphasized that the Company remains committed to upholding sustainability principles and good corporate governance (GCG) across all upstream operations. “We believe that managing human safety, health, and environmental protection forms the foundation for sustaining oil and gas production that is vital to national energy security,” said Dharma.

Through its active involvement in WCD 2025, PHKT further strengthens its role in promoting responsible oil and gas production and environmental conservation wherever the Company operates. “We continue to apply best environmental management practices within the national and global oil and gas industry, in line with the sustainability policies of PHE and PT Pertamina (Persero), to deliver safe and environmentally responsible energy,” he concluded.
