Jakarta- PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) through its subsidiaries, namely PT Pertamina Hulu East Kalimantan (PHKT) and PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) succeeded in obtaining the 2023 Subroto Award in the field of Oil and Gas Safety and Utilization of Gas Flares in Oil and Gas Business Activities from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (29/09/2023). This event is the peak of the 78th Mining and Energy Anniversary commemoration, which carries the theme "Energy of the Nation's Future."

In this awards event, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif gave the highest appreciation to Business Entities, individuals, and stakeholders who have performed the best in advancing the ESDM sector in Indonesia within the last year through the 2023 Subroto Award.

PHI Main Director John Anis and PHM General Manager Setyo Sapto Edi received this award directly.

John Anis explained that this achievement was the government's recognition of the energy efficiency performance that had been carried out by the Company and was a form of implementation of strategic steps to implement energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and support Pertamina's energy transition policy.

"PHKT won an award in the Utilization of Gas Flares in Petroleum Fields subcategory. "Meanwhile, PHM succeeded in winning an award in the subcategory of Utilization of Gas Flares in Natural Gas Fields," explained John.

John added that PHI and its subsidiaries continue to apply the best engineering practices in maintaining and improving the reliability of decades-old oil and gas operations and production facilities to support national energy security.

"We believe that the application of innovation and technology plays an important role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations, able to withstand the rate of natural decline in production and maintain Indonesia's oil and gas production levels," concluded John.
