Balikpapan – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) has established the Drilling & Well Intervention Cinematic Universe (DWICU) community as a dynamic platform for employees to innovate, communicate, and inspire one another in support of the company’s operational excellence and business objectives. The vision behind DWICU is to create an interactive learning space that blends education with creativity, particularly in videography, photography, poster design, and logo creation. In October 2025, two DWICU representatives proudly won first place in the video and poster categories at the HSSE Marshall Batch 1 competition organized by PT Pertamina (Persero).

Formed by the Drilling & Well Intervention (DWI) Function in early 2025, DWICU reflects the company’s commitment to supporting employees’ interests and competencies through continuous development. The community aims to strengthen a culture of learning, collaboration, and creativity across the workplace.

Manager Well Intervention Zona 8, Tomi Sugiarto, stated that DWICU has played a key role in bridging the gap between the younger generation, particularly Gen Z employees, and their senior mentors through mentoring, coaching, and knowledge-sharing activities designed to enhance their professional competencies. He added that DWICU serves as an effective communication channel for conveying the company’s strategic messages, including those related to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE). “Through creative and collaborative approaches, DWICU contributes to building positive corporate messages and reinforcing a safety culture across all work areas,” said Tomi.

Senior Manager Drilling & Well Intervention PHM, Muhammad Sobirin, expressed appreciation for DWICU’s recent success at HSSE Marshall Batch 1. “This achievement marks an important milestone in our roadmap toward a generative safety culture, where every employee plays an active role in prioritizing HSSE. Safety is not just a rule, it is a culture that must be deeply embedded in every step we take,” said Sobirin.

The HSSE Marshall competition aims to promote HSSE values through engaging and easily understood communication media, encouraging all Pertamina employees to embody safety principles in their daily work. With the themes “Hand & Finger Injury Free (HFIF)” and “TEMAN KARIB (Tegur Saat Tidak Aman dan Kajian Risiko Pribadi),” DWICU’s entries impressed the judges and inspired many. Their campaign slogan, “Work Safely, Return with a Smile,” captured the spirit of the initiative.

Beyond HSSE Marshall, DWICU representatives have also participated in various other competitions organized by PT Pertamina (Persero), including the Well Control Competition, Risk Management Forum 2025, PHE KolaborArts, and the Workplace Decoration Contest.

According to Sobirin, DWICU not only strengthens internal synergy but also drives active participation in various corporate programs and campaigns. Its involvement reflects the community’s dedication to fostering collaboration, accelerating continuous learning, and reinforcing a culture of excellence and integrity within the company. “Through the spirit of learning, collaboration, and creativity, DWICU has become a pioneer of inspiring visual communication, spreading safety messages and Pertamina’s core values to create a positive impact not only for PHM employees but also for the wider Indonesian community,” he concluded.
