Jakarta - One of the subsidiaries of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), namely PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN) to support the supply of Fuel Oil (BBM) for upstream oil and gas operations (24/11/2023).

PHI's President and Director, John Anis, explained that the signing of this MoU is a follow-up to the MoU between SKK Migas and PPN. "As a manifestation of our commitment to support SKK Migas' strategic steps in managing national upstream oil and gas operations, we consider this MoU as an effort to optimize costs, improve operational reliability and effectiveness, as well as synergy among Pertamina's subsidiaries," said John Anis.

He stated that this MoU will facilitate the smoothness of upstream oil and gas activities by providing certainty in the fuel supplies needed for all company operational units located in marine areas and involving many vessels.

"PPN will provide BBM according to specifications with quantities aligned with operational needs and delivery times per the designated schedule. All of these efforts represent our steps in providing safe and sustainable energy for Indonesia's economic development and supporting PT Pertamina's energy transition policy," added John.

Meanwhile, Maya Kusmaya, Director of Marketing at PPN, revealed that PHM is one of the largest oil and gas producers in East Kalimantan, making the partnership with PHM a form of PPN's contribution to providing the energy needed by PHM and Indonesia.

"We are delighted to provide energy, in the form of better, competitive, and environmentally friendly BBM, to support the operation of equipment and transportation tools for oil and gas exploration and production activities in the PHM area," she added.
