Samboja, Kutai Kartanegara — PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) provided full support for the Mahakam Mini Soccer Tournament 2025 as part of the Company’s collaboration with various stakeholders around its operational areas. The tournament, held from August 9 to 27, 2025, brought together 24 clubs from Samboja, West Samboja, and Muara Jawa Subdistricts in Kutai Kartanegara Regency.
The tournament received an enthusiastic response and became a source of entertainment for the community. Each match attracted an average of 200 spectators, while the final match between Braders FC from Tanjung Harapan, Samboja, and Fans FC from Sanipah, Samboja drew around 500 spectators at the Mahakam Soccer Field (SPS Field Stadium). The tournament concluded with Braders FC emerging as the champion.
Before the final match, the excitement grew with an exhibition game featuring the organizing committee, Samboja District Leadership Coordination Forum (Muspika Samboja), and PHM employees from the Senipah Peciko and South Mahakam Fields. This friendly match symbolized PHM’s commitment to fostering togetherness and sportsmanship in community engagement activities.
Hosna Nasution, SPS Field Manager of PHM, emphasized that maintaining harmonious relations with the community and the environment surrounding the Company’s operational areas is essential for ensuring the sustainability of oil and gas production in Kalimantan, which plays a vital role in national energy security.
“Our support for this tournament reflects our continuous efforts to build togetherness and strengthen relationships with stakeholders, particularly local governments and communities,” said Hosna.
The mini soccer tournament also encourages people to exercise regularly, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen camaraderie among residents. “We believe that sports serve as a bridge to foster unity, nurture sportsmanship, and build a spirit of togetherness. Our support for the Mahakam Mini Soccer Tournament 2025 aligns with the Company’s commitment to grow and thrive alongside the community,” he added.
Samboja Subdistrict Head, Damsik, expressed appreciation for PHM’s support and initiative.
“We would like to thank PHM for initiating and fully supporting the success of this tournament. PHM consistently contributes to community development programs, not only through infrastructure and training assistance but also in health-related initiatives, such as encouraging people to embrace a healthy lifestyle through sports,” said Damsik.
In organizing this event, PHM collaborated with the local government, Muspika Samboja, Sanipah Village Office, Sanipah Community Council (LPM), Youth Organization (Karang Taruna), and other local partners. PHM remains committed to supporting positive community activities in areas such as sports, education, environment, and social empowerment. With the success of the Mahakam Mini Soccer Tournament 2025, PHM hopes that the tournament will become an annual tradition, continuing to bring benefits and strengthening community bonds in Samboja and its surrounding areas.
