Bunyu Island, North Kalimantan– As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment to improving public health, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Bunyu Field held a free health check-up event, including pediatric specialist services on January 6, 2025, at the Bunyu Community Health Center (Puskesmas Bunyu), Bunyu District, Bulungan, North Kalimantan. The event was attended by representatives from the Bunyu District Office, the Bunyu Community Health Center, and PEP Bunyu Field Management.
A total of 60 people, including 20 children, received free health services as beneficiaries of PEP Bunyu Field's CSR program called Ketinting, which stands for Keluarga Terlindung Stunting/Stunting-Protected Families. The company invited Dr. Sigit, a pediatric specialist from Pertamina Tarakan Hospital, to provide direct medical consultations for children.
Pjs. Senior Manager of Bunyu Field, Riza Akbar, emphasized that this program is part of PEP Bunyu Field's commitment to stunting prevention and represents the company's tangible contribution to improving community health. "Through this program, the company provides children with quality medical services. Until now, residents have had to travel long distances to Tarakan to access pediatric specialist services," Riza explained.
"We are committed to continuously supporting the government's efforts to reduce stunting rates. By bringing pediatric specialists to Bunyu, we hope to provide easier access to healthcare and positively impact the growth and development of children in this region," Riza added.
According to Riza, the program provides medical services and is designed to educate parents about the importance of balanced nutrition and monitoring their children's growth and development. Through this initiative, the community is expected to become more aware of the importance of proper childcare and adequate nutrition for future generations.
Head of Social, Economic, and Community Empowerment at the Bunyu District Office, Yuli, also expressed support for the initiative, highlighting its significant role in improving access to healthcare. "This free health check-up is a strategic step to reduce stunting rates in Bunyu. Additionally, it educates parents on the importance of regularly monitoring their children's health," she stated.
Through this health initiative, PEP Bunyu Field continues strengthening collaboration between the business sector and the government to improve community welfare. This initiative demonstrates that the industrial sector contributes to economic growth and plays a vital role in creating positive social impacts.
Manager of Communication Relations & CID at PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia, Dony Indrawan, explained that the Ketinting Program has been running since 2023 as one of the company's flagship CSR initiatives.
