Jakarta– PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) signed two Gas Sales and Purchase Agreements (PJBG) with the PLN Group as a strategic step to support national energy security and Pertamina's energy transition policy. The signing was held at the 49th Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) Convention & Exhibition at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Tuesday (05/20/2025), which was facilitated by Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities/Satuan Kerja Khusus Pelaksana Kegiatan Usaha Hulu Minyak dan Gas Bumi (SKK Migas) as the regulator.
The two PJBGs that have been agreed upon are agreements between PT Pertamina EP and PT PLN (Persero), as well as between PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia (Tanjung Batu Kaltim) and a total gas supply volume of 5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) for electricity needs during the 2022-2027 contract period. The second agreement is between PT Pertamina (Persero)/Kontraktor Kontrak Kerja Sama (KKKS) with PT PLN (Persero) and PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia with a total gas supply of between 10 and 36 billion British thermal units per day (BBTUD) for electricity needs for the 2022-2026 contract period.
President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) Sunaryanto affirmed that the Company is always committed to supporting the Indonesian Government's Asta Cita mandate to achieve energy self-sufficiency. Sunaryanto added that PHI, together with all its subsidiaries and affiliates, is striving to establish a robust supply chain and enhance efficiency. "We also encourage innovation and the application of technology in the Company's operations and business based on best practices in the national and global upstream oil and gas industry to maintain the production level of onshore and offshore oil and gas fields in the Kalimantan region," he said.
To support the sustainability of oil and gas production from the Kalimantan region, PHI applies the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in every operational and business activity of the Company. In terms of Governance, the Company implements a Zero-Tolerance Policy on Bribery by implementing fraud prevention measures and ensuring that the Company is free from bribery. One of them is implementing the Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP), which has been standardized to ISO 37001:2016.
