Bunyu Island, North Kalimantan— PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Bunyu Field continues its commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of the community. This initiative was recently demonstrated through the distribution of nutritious supplementary food and milk to toddlers at Posyandu Kasih Bunda and the provision of health masks to the Bunyu Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) Health Center on Monday, December 2, 2024.
During the event at the Posyandu, 47 toddlers and 11 infants, accompanied by Posyandu cadres and their parents, received nutritious supplementary food and milk. Simultaneously, masks were distributed to the UPTD Bunyu Health Center to bolster health services for the local community.
Despredi Akbar, Senior Manager of PT Pertamina EP Bunyu Field, stated that the initiative is part of a routine program conducted every semester throughout 2024. "This program is designed to support the improvement of community health and well-being, in line with efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," he said.
Despredi emphasized that PEP Bunyu Field consistently implements Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs across various sectors to foster community development and self-reliance. "Through this program, the company aims to make a tangible, positive impact on community welfare, particularly in health, as part of its sustainability commitment," he added.
One of the company's key focuses, aligned with achieving the SDGs, is occupational health management, which extends to employees, partners, and the surrounding community. "The company has policies and occupational health management programs to safeguard the well-being of employees, partners, and the community. This program supports SDG Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) and Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) as part of our commitment to delivering long-term benefits to society," Despredi explained.
Adnan, Head of the Bunyu Health Center, expressed gratitude for PEP Bunyu Field's contributions. "We sincerely thank Pertamina EP Bunyu Field for its dedication to the Bunyu community by providing free supplementary food (PMT) for infants, toddlers, and pregnant women at Posyandu Kasih Bunda. We also appreciate the ongoing support for healthcare facilities on Bunyu Island, such as the provision of masks, which will greatly assist the Bunyu medical team in treating patients," he said.
The event included activities such as measuring toddlers' weight, height, and head circumference and distributing supplementary food and milk. This initiative reflects PT Pertamina EP Bunyu Field's social responsibility and demonstrates the strong synergy between the company and the community in fostering a healthy and prosperous environment.
