Kutai Kartanegara - PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT), under Subholding Upstream Regional 3 Zona 10, organized an event titled "Great Santan Towards 2024" at the Santan Terminal, East Kalimantan & Attaka Working Area, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan.

The event was attended by the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas Kalsul) and representatives from Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) Parties, including PT Eni Muara Bakau, PT Eni Makassar Limited, PT Eni Rapak Deep Water Limited, and PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Sangasanga.

Zona 10 General Manager Avep Disasmita explained the importance of the Santan Terminal as a storage facility for production yields from various oil fields managed by several Contractors of Cooperation Contracts (KKKS) in the East Kalimantan region before lifting.

"During the year-end 2023 lifting, the total nomination at the Santan Terminal reached 612 thousand barrels, comprising 215 thousand barrels of Bontang Return Condensate, 235 thousand barrels of Attaka Crude Oil, and 162 thousand barrels of West Seno Bangka Mix intended for loading onto the MT Amarin Indah tanker," he stated.

Avep added that these three crude oil and condensate products were produced by JOA partners and stored at the Santan Terminal operated by PHKT. "The event coincided with a series of inventory stock activities and year-end lifting conducted on Saturday, December 30, 2023," he added.

Representing the management of SKK Migas Kalsul, Sumaryana expressed appreciation to PHKT for achieving zero work accidents. He hoped that PHKT, the terminal, and the JOA operator would optimize the lifting in frequency and volume to maximize the achievement of oil lifting targets.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Binto Iskandar Tobing presented the achievement of zero work accidents at the Santan Terminal, totaling more than 3.6 million safe hours from the beginning of its operation on October 25, 2018, until December 2023.

"Alhamdulillah, the Santan Terminal successfully secured the 2nd place at the Loss Control Summit Awards in the Best Subholding Upstream Operational Terminal/Marine Terminal category for the year 2023, presented by Pertamina (Persero)," he added.

In addition to safety performance, PHKT received recognition from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) for environmental management and community empowerment by receiving two Gold PROPER awards, namely in the South Operational Area (DOBS) and North Operational Area (DOBU) at the end of December 2023.
