Kutai Kartanegara – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) received a working visit from Commission I of the Kutai Kartanegara Regional House of Representatives (DPRD Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara) to the South Processing Unit (SPU) Field in Anggana Sub-district, Kutai Kartanegara, on Saturday (January 24, 2026). The visit aimed to review in person the management of upstream oil and gas operations and production in the field.
During the visit to the SPU Field, Commission I of DPRD Kutai Kartanegara, led by Vice Chair of Commission I, Wandi, S.E., sought to ensure the continued benefits of upstream oil and gas operations for surrounding communities and the environment, while reaffirming DPRD Kutai Kartanegara’s commitment to supporting PHM’s performance.
SPU Field Site Manager Teddy Indrawan delivered a presentation on upstream oil and gas operational performance, the implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs around the operational area, and various efficiency and environmental sustainability efforts, including a mangrove cultivation program involving multiple stakeholders in the vicinity of the Company’s operations. Teddy also emphasized SPU Field’s commitment to supporting national energy security through its oil and gas production, as well as its ongoing contribution to the development of the coastal areas of Kutai Kartanegara.
Furthermore, in presenting the performance overview, Teddy highlighted that PHM prioritizes innovation and the application of technology, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment. According to him, the SPU Field serves as an example of how upstream oil and gas operations can be managed in harmony with the lives of coastal communities in Kutai Kartanegara.
Responding to the presentation, Vice Chair of Commission I of DPRD Kutai Kartanegara, Wandi, S.E., expressed appreciation for PHM’s dedication and innovation in carrying out oil and gas operations and production, maintaining environmental sustainability, implementing CSR programs, and involving local communities as part of the workforce. He thanked the Company for absorbing local labor, thereby supporting economic improvement for surrounding communities.
Wandi added that PHM’s CSR programs, particularly in the education sector, have had a positive impact on improving the quality of human resources in the coastal areas of Kutai Kartanegara. He concluded by expressing hope that the synergy between PHM, the Regional Government, and the DPRD would continue to strengthen to support regional development and improve community welfare.
Head of Communication, Relations & CID PHM, Achmad Krisna Hadiyanto, conveyed the Company’s commitment to continuously supporting community capacity building and independence through various social and environmental responsibility (CSR) programs. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure that upstream oil and gas operations continue to provide substantial benefits in supplying energy and driving Indonesia’s development.
According to him, the working visit reflects the strong commitment of PHM and DPRD Kutai Kartanegara in building sustainable synergy based on transparency, professionalism, and concern for the environment and society. “This collaboration is expected to sustain upstream oil and gas operations, meet national energy needs, and ensure that the benefits are tangibly felt by coastal communities in Kutai Kartanegara, in line with contributions to supporting the Government’s Asta Cita agenda and regional development,” he concluded.
