Strengthening Synergy with Stakeholders, PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur Socializes 2025 Plans

Samarinda – To support the achievement of national oil and gas production targets, PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) held a 2025 Oil and Gas Well Development Workshop in collaboration with stakeholders in East Kalimantan. The event discussed strategic steps for developing oil and gas wells in PHKT's operational areas, such as Attaka Field, STA Field, and Santan.

The workshop in Samarinda on December 20 served as a platform for collaboration to explore innovative solutions to address various challenges in the upstream oil and gas sector. In his opening remarks, Dharma Saputra, Head of Communication Relations & CID Zona 10, emphasized the importance of collective efforts in supporting national oil and gas production targets. "Success cannot be achieved alone. All stakeholders must support the vital role of the upstream oil and gas industry to realize energy self-sufficiency," he said.

The workshop was attended by stakeholders, including representatives from the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities Representative for Kalimantan and Sulawesi /Satuan Kerja Khusus Pelaksana Kegiatan Usaha Hulu Minyak dan Gas Bumi Perwakilan Kalimantan dan Sulawesi, the East Kalimantan Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Office, Samarinda Navigation District, Port Authority and Harbor Master Offices/Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan (KSOP) of Balikpapan and Bontang, Tanjung Santan Port Administration Unit/Kantor Unit Penyelenggara Pelabuhan (KUPP), Fisheries Department of Penajam Paser Utara Regency, Marine and Fisheries Department of Kutai Kartanegara Regency, Environmental Departments of Bontang City and Kutai Kartanegara Regency, and PHKT management.

During the workshop, PHKT teams from Drilling, HSSE, Operations and surface Facilities (OSF), and Project functions presented the company's strategic plans for accelerating oil and gas well development in 2025. The agenda included replacing subsea hoses and SBM Santan, conducting geotechnical surveys, and building production facilities.

Representing SKK Migas Kalimantan Sulawesi, Damar Setyawan expressed his hope that East Kalimantan would serve as a hub for exploration and become a center of national energy innovation. "We are optimistic that with the guidance and support of all parties present here, we can realize this ambitious plan," he said.

Puji Harjanto, an East Kalimantan ESDM Office representative, supported PHKT's plans. "We have high hopes for PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur to uncover new oil and gas well potentials, which will serve as a cornerstone for increasing energy production capacity in East Kalimantan," he remarked.

Puji Harjanto further noted that the discovery of new resources would strengthen national energy resilience and positively impact community welfare and regional economic growth. "We believe that through these well development activities, East Kalimantan will solidify its position as a key driver of Indonesia's oil and gas sector, contributing significantly to sustainable development," he added.

In addition to operational focus, the workshop provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships between PHKT, local governments, and communities. The active participation of agencies such as the ESDM Office and Samarinda Navigation District demonstrated a shared commitment to supporting the development of the oil and gas sector in East Kalimantan.

As part of its commitment to transparency and sustainability, PHKT reiterated that every project initiated would bring tangible benefits to local communities and the surrounding environment. With a spirit of collaboration and determination, PHKT is optimistic about overcoming challenges and achieving national oil and gas production targets in 2025.
