Strengthening an Anti-Corruption Culture, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Holds HAKORDIA 2025 Webinar in the Oil and Gas Environment

Jakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) held a webinar to commemorate International Anti-Corruption Day 2025/Hari Antikorupsi Sedunia 2025 (HAKORDIA) on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Carrying the theme “Satukan Aksi Basmi Korupsi” (“Unite Actions to Eradicate Corruption”), the webinar marked the peak event of this year’s HAKORDIA commemoration. The entire series of activities was aimed at strengthening the integrity of upstream oil and gas workers so they remain free from corrupt practices that pose significant risks to the Company's sustainability.

As part of the 2025 HAKORDIA commemoration, PHI organized a series of online activities titled “Road to HAKORDIA 2025,” including the Find the Words Compliance – Anti-Corruption Edition game and the Compliance Crossword Puzzle, which took place throughout November 2025. These activities encouraged workers to maintain a work environment free from fraud and ethical violations, while also sharpening their understanding of integrity principles.

In his opening remarks at the webinar, PHI President Director Sunaryanto reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to implementing Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles in managing investment projects and upstream oil and gas operational activities to ensure compliance and successful execution. “We believe that the sustainability of the Company’s operations and business is determined by integrity and the level of corporate compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including anti-corruption laws,” said Sunaryanto.

According to him, at PHI, all management and employees work together to ensure that decisions, actions, and all business processes are carried out in a clean, transparent, and ethical manner. On this occasion, Sunaryanto expressed his appreciation to all employees and business partners within the PHI environment for their dedication, integrity, and hard work in upholding an anti-corruption culture.

Meanwhile, PHI President Commissioner Meidawati conveyed the entire PHI Board of Commissioners' commitment to preventing all forms of corruption, in line with the implementation of SNI ISO 37001:2016 on the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) and Good Corporate Governance (GCG). “We continue to encourage PHI management and employees to conduct company operations ethically and responsibly consistently,” she stated.

The HAKORDIA 2025 Webinar attracted the initial attention of approximately 250 viewers. The Company presented an academic and criminal law expert as the speaker, Agustinus Pohan, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Criminal Law, Parahyangan Catholic University, who has also served as an expert team member of the Corruption Eradication Commission/Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK), particularly in drafting the annotated Criminal Code Bill and Supreme Court Regulations related to the handling of corporate criminal offenses.

Agustinus delivered a presentation on “Understanding Corruption Crimes and Efforts to Eradicate Them.” Through his presentation, he explained types of corruption, statutory norms, extraordinary measures, corruption involving state-owned enterprises, and corruption that causes state losses. In discussing the relevance of corruption that causes state losses, Agustinus also highlighted corporate issues in corruption crimes and the criteria for corporate liability. He further emphasized that having a compliance function is a crucial requirement for effective corruption prevention within a company. As part of PHI’s commitment to eradicating corruption, PHI and PHM successfully maintained ISO 37001:2016 certification on the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) in 2025.

As an oil and gas company, PHI continues to take various strategic steps to build an anti-corruption culture through the Four No’s principles: No Bribery, meaning avoiding and rejecting all forms of bribery and extortion; No Kickback, meaning avoiding and rejecting requests for commissions or tokens of appreciation, whether in cash or other forms; No Gift, meaning avoiding and rejecting the receipt or giving of gifts or gratuities that are contrary to applicable regulations and provisions; and No Luxurious Hospitality, meaning avoiding and rejecting excessive receptions and entertainment.

Through the commemoration of HAKORDIA 2025, PHI is increasingly confident that an anti-corruption culture will continue to grow stronger, supporting the success and sustainability of the Company’s oil and gas production, which is vital to the availability and resilience of national energy in line with the Government’s Asta Cita.
