Balikpapan – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) received a working visit from the Regional House of Representatives/Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) of Kutai Kartanegara Regency at the PHM Office in Balikpapan on Tuesday (17/03/2026). The visit aimed to strengthen synergy between the upstream oil and gas industry and the regional legislative institution by convening a gathering and discussion on the Company’s operational performance, contributions to the region, and commitment to sustainability.
During the visit, the Regional House of Representatives of Kutai Kartanegara Regency delegation was led by Vice Chairman Abdul Rasid, accompanied by council members from Commission I, Commission III, and Commission IV. The delegation received an overview of the Mahakam Working Area/Wilayah Kerja (WK), operational and production activities, and community involvement and development programs implemented by PHM in areas surrounding the Company’s working area.
PHM General Manager Setyo Sapto Edi stated that collaboration with regional stakeholders is key to maintaining safe, reliable, and sustainable oil and gas operations. “PHM is committed to ensuring that the Company’s upstream oil and gas operations and business can drive economic growth, education, and community self-reliance in line with sustainability goals. Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the Kutai Kartanegara DPRD, Abdul Rasid, expressed appreciation for the Company’s sustainability programs, particularly the involvement of local workers from Kutai Kartanegara in PHM’s oil and gas fields. “We hope to maintain continuous engagement with PHM so that the presence of the upstream oil and gas industry can provide maximum positive impact for the people of Kutai Kartanegara,” he said.
Through this visit, communication between PHM and the Kutai Kartanegara DPRD is expected to become closer, supporting optimal, transparent, and sustainable energy resource management for regional development and contributing significantly to national energy security in line with the government’s Asta Cita agenda on energy self-sufficiency.
