SKK Migas Deputy Visits PHMs Petani Maju 4.0 CSR Program

Balikpapan - SKK Migas Operations Deputy visits one of PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam’s (PHM) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, the Advanced Farmers 4.0 community development program.

The visit was conducted during SKK Migas Operations Deputy, Julius Wiratno, and his team’s visit to the Senipah Terminal (SPS). Together with the Zona 8 General Manager, Krisna, and Julius visited the Advanced Farmers 4.0 program location at the Baanjung Farmers’ Pavilion in the Handil Baru Darat Subdistrict.

The group was welcomed with children's folk dance and Hibiscus and Butterfly Pea tea. Baanjung Farmers’ Pavilion manager, Asnawi, explained that the tea was a welcome drink unique to Baanjung that was produced using the Pertakultur farming in the Advanced Farmer 4.0 program.

In his speech, Krisna explained that Pertakultur was a social innovation that applied eco-friendly agricultural management and simple permaculture application based on local wisdom, as well as collaboration with the community, government, and PHM. The innovation-led PHM to receive the Gold Proper Award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in 2021.

“Through the 6 Pertakultur management principles: conserving nature, landscaping, recycling waste, benefit expansion, mutual benefit, as well as independent and sustainable, the Advanced Farmers 4.0 encourages a change in farming pattern to be more environmentally friendly and also helps to increase income through women and youth engagement,” Krisna said.

PHM also introduced the Advanced Farmers 4.0 products such as decomposer and Biotasuke liquid organic fertilizer, and food processing products from Women Farming Group’s crops. The group also toured the Baanjung area to pick some fruits, spread fish, and plant 50 fruit trees.

Pertamina Hulu Mahakan also assisted to facilitate the Biotasuke products’ license from the Ministry of Agriculture, the construction of the Agricultural and Rural Training Center, and donated agricultural machine tools such as mulch, a chopping machine, and hand tractors.

Julius said that SKK Migas appreciated the Advanced Farmers 4.0 program’s innovation and achievements. This proved that the upstream oil and gas industry not only explored and produced oil and gas but also created a multiplier effect on the community development around its area of operations.
