Jakarta - PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) has succeeded in increasing gas production of the Sisi Nubi Field to reach 149.2 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) highest achievement since 2019. PHM noted that this production was exactly six days after the 77th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 23, 2022.

General Manager of PHM, Krisna, said that the production achievement of the Nubi Side Field matched the achievement achieved almost 3 years ago, namely at the end of 2019. In fact, the operational and business challenges faced by the Company in managing mature oil and gas fields in the Mahakam Working Area, of course, are increasingly difficult and complex.

The achievement achieved by the Sisi Nubi Field is a positive impact on the success of the WPN-4 platform start-up which is part of the Jumelai, North Sisi, North Nubi (JSN) project successfully carried out the first gas jetting on August 17, 2022, ago.

"This achievement is the result of the application of innovation and technology in PHM and good collaboration between all related functions, including Subsurface Development & Planning, Project, Drilling & Intervention, and Production Operations," said Krisna.

Krisna added that the Company implements drilling practices that are more effective, efficient, and fast in finding new oil and gas resources from exploration and development (exploitation) activities. According to him, this achievement is a form of the Company's commitment to realize a work program supported by the receipt of oil and gas incentive approvals from the government.

"We are committed to continuing to invest and carry out drilling activities for new wells as a strategic step in containing the natural declining rate of production and maintaining oil and gas production levels to support the achievement of the national oil and gas production target in 2030," krisna explained.

Since the approval of oil and gas incentives was given in 2021, all levels of management and PHM workers have continued to take various strategic steps to realize the approved work program in supporting the achievement of the national oil and gas production target.
