Sangatta Selatan, Kutai Timur - Sangatta Field, which is part of Zone 9 Regional 3 Kalimantan held the first stage of COVID-19 Vaccination for all workers and partners of the company. The event was carried out in two days, 7 and 8 August 2021 at Pertamina EP Sangatta Field Clinic in Sangkima Village, Sangatta Selatan Subdistrict, Kutai Timur Regency. 

This Stage 1 Vaccination was fully supported by the local government, as evident in the involvement of Kutai Timur Regency’s COVID-19 Task Force, TNI-POLRI (Indonesian Army-Police Force), health workers, and Kutai Timur Regency’s Public Health Office. The opening ceremony was held on 7 August and opened with a speech from dr. Bahrani Hasanal, Head of Kutai Timur Public Health Office, who represented Kutai Timur Regent. Dr. Bahrani Hasanal said that at the time, only 20-30% of Kutai Timur residents had received Stage 1 COVID-19 vaccination. Joint Vaccination that the company facilitated is expected to increase the percentage of vaccinated people in Kutai Timur, as well as to be an example for other companies in the region.

In this program, 396 doses of vaccine were allocated for workers and partners who resides in Kutai Timur Regency. Hanif Setiawan, the Manager of Sangatta Field, said this vaccination is part of company’s efforts and participation in strengthening people’s immune to face COVID-19 pandemic.  Hanif added that vaccination program aims to ensure that company’s operational and production activities can go on smoothly. The company will also continue to provide vaccination for family members of workers and partners. They are currently being recorded to receive vaccination.

In addition, to overcome COVID-19, the company also holds routine programs such as donating food packages for local communities who are performing self-isolation, health program, clean Friday movement, and distributing vitamins. Hopefully, communities around Sangatta Field will continue to support the company and the government in fighting the spread of COVID-19 by implementing strict health protocol.
