Jakarta - In commemorating National Waste Care Day (HPSN), PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) held an ENVIROTECH 4.0 Business Plan competition with the theme Waste Reimagined. 

The competition, open to students from all universities in Indonesia, is a competition to design innovative scientific writing concepts in collaboration with waste management business management (5/02/2023 – 18/03/2023). 

Zone 10 General Manager, Djudjuwanto said that this activity is part of implementing sustainable environmental management commitments by applying Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in supporting safe, reliable, compliant, and environmentally friendly oil and gas operations.

"Through this activity, PHKT continues to encourage various innovations to carry out company policies in optimal and sustainable waste management, as well as build collective awareness about the importance of the 3R principle (reduce, reuse, and recycle)", explained Djudjuwanto. 

The manager of HSSE Operation PHKT, Rotua Elyzabeth, conveyed the high enthusiasm of participants to register for this competition. This is shown by the many participants, as many as 527 teams from public and private universities. 

"All teams participating in the competition have provided fresh, creative, and innovative ideas. This will be very useful as a real contribution to waste management in the future, "said Rotua. 

Rotua added that the winners of the ENVIROTECH 4.0 competition were announced online on March 18, 2023, consisting of several categories, namely Best Innovation, 1st place won by Gamatetik from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), 2nd place by War Its from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), 3rd place by Stargaze from UGM. Furthermore, the Best Prototype was won by Gamatetik from UGM, and War Its won the Best Presentation from ITS. 

"Hopefully, with the implementation of this activity, students throughout Indonesia can increase creativity and ability in project planning, especially in waste management which will be useful in overcoming challenges and problems that exist in Indonesia," concluded Rotua.
