Kutai Kartanegara– PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) conducted Graphic Design and Digital Marketing Training and Certification for residents of Handil Terusan Village, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan. This initiative aims to develop the community's digital skills as part of the Pesona Hanter Program, which focuses on economic, social, and tourism development within the village's social forestry area.

The training and certification activities took place from February 11th to 24th, 2025, and were attended by nine Mutiara Wanita Hanter Social Forestry Business Group/ Kelompok Usaha Perhutanan Sosial (KUPS) members. The Hanter Program supports biodiversity conservation while improving the local economy through the sustainable use of forest products, including producing and marketing local goods such as pempek, fish crackers, shrimp crackers, and amplang.

PHSS collaborated with the Village Forest Management Institution/Lembaga Pengelola Hutan Desa (LPHD) and the Handil Terusan Village Government to organize the training and certification. The training was held at the Handil Terusan Village Office from February 11 to 18, 2025, under the guidance of certified instructors from the Cendana Training and Course Institute/Lembaga Kursus dan Pelatihan Cendana (LKP Cendana). The competency certification took place at LKP Cendana in Samarinda on February 24, 2025, where participants received official certificates from the National Professional Certification Agency/Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP).

The village head, the secretary of the Village Consultative Agency/Badan Permusyawaratan Desa (BPD), and representatives from LPHD Handil Terusan also attended the event, demonstrating their support for the community's skill development initiative.

Head of Communication Relations & CID Zona 9, Elis Fauziyah, highlighted the importance of collaboration in the program's success. "We worked closely with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), local small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) in planning and executing this program, along with other key stakeholders. We truly appreciate the support from all parties involved," Elis stated.

One of the Graphic Design training participants, Rita, shared her positive experience. "This training has given us new knowledge and skills. Initially, we couldn't design logos or product packaging. After a week of training, we can now create our product designs," she said.

Inah, a participant in the Digital Marketing training, also found the program valuable. "The training materials were easy to understand, covering both basic concepts and practical strategies. The hands-on practice was particularly helpful," she noted.

Through this program, PHSS aims to ensure that the skills gained by participants can be applied sustainably to enhance their business competitiveness and drive economic growth in Handil Terusan Village.
