Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam— PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) and PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Sangasanga Field have once again achieved remarkable international recognition in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). These subsidiaries and affiliates of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) successfully secured awards at the 17th Annual Global CSR & ESG Summit 2025, held in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, on February 26. The Pinnacle Group International organized the event with the Sustainable Technology Centre.

PEP Sangasanga Field received the Platinum Award in the Best Environmental Excellence Award category for its "Ekoriparian Sungai Hitam Lestari" (SHL) Program, while PHSS earned the Bronze Award in the Best Community Programme Award category through its "Water Supply System (WSS) Saliki" Program. This achievement proves the company's commitment to developing innovative CSR programs that significantly impact communities and the environment.

Dony Indrawan, manager of Communication Relations and CID PHI, expressed his pride in the accomplishments of PHI's subsidiaries and affiliates. He stated that these awards represent recognition of the success of the company's flagship CSR programs. "The Ekoriparian SHL Program is a key initiative of PEP Sangasanga Field, which has led the company to win the PROPER Gold Award for two consecutive years. This program integrates riverbank area management with green infrastructure for wastewater treatment," Dony explained

Beyond serving as an innovative environmental management system, Ekoriparian SHL is a community empowerment and education center. Using a participatory approach, the program encourages active community involvement in preserving river ecosystems while raising awareness of the importance of sustainable environmental management.

Meanwhile, the "Water Supply System (WSS) Saliki" Program, developed by PHSS in 2018, has successfully provided clean water solutions for the residents of Saliki Village. "This program adopts a community-based approach by involving the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) in its management," Dony added.

One of the key innovations of the WSS Saliki Program is using activated charcoal biofilters from coconut waste, serving as an environmentally friendly natural purification system. To date, WSS Saliki has supplied clean water to 326 households in the village and continues to be replicated in other areas such as Samberah, Nilam, and Salo Cella in Kutai Kartanegara Regency.

Head of Communication Relations & CID Zona 9, Elis Fauziyah, highlighted that this achievement reflects the company's successful implementation of social and environmental innovation. "We incorporate social and environmental innovations into our CSR programs to create significant and sustainable impacts on communities," said Elis. She further emphasized that the success of these CSR programs results from strong collaboration between the company and all stakeholders, particularly local communities and government entities.

She noted that these awards demonstrate the company's commitment and concrete actions in implementing CSR programs that extend beyond business interests, creating long-term benefits for both the environment and society. "Through continuous innovation and program expansion, the company strives to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and generating a lasting positive impact, particularly on SDG Goal 1: No Poverty, Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal 13: Climate Action, and Goal 15: Life on Land," she concluded.
