Balikpapan – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) won two Subroto Awards 2022, that is the field of Oil and Gas Safety and utilization of Flare Gas in Oil and Gas Business Activities for the Category of Oil and Gas Work Safety Development, as well as in the field of PNBP (Non-Tax State Revenue) and Upstream Oil and Gas Financial Performance for the Category of Spurring The Increase in Upstream Oil and Gas Business Revenue Through Cost Optimization (4/10/2022). 

The awarding of the Subroto Awards 2022 was held virtually and attended by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif, the Minister of Mines and Energy for 1978 - 1988 Professor Dr. Subroto, Secretary General of Energy and Mineral Resources Rida Mulyana, and other high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

The event started with opening remarks from the Secretary of General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Rida Mulyana. In her speech, Rida said that this year the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources gave appreciation to 54 winners from 13 fields within the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. 

Responding to the award received, the General Manager of PHM, Krisna, said that PHM always carries out safe, reliable, superior, obedient, and environmentally friendly oil and gas operations. According to him, PHM always applies best practices in managing the impact of the Company's oil and gas operations on the community and the surrounding environment.

We believe that improving HSSE performance in companies and partners will support safe, effective, reliable, environmentally friendly, and sustainable oil and gas operations. We apply best practices in maintaining the economy of oil and gas assets so that they can continue to generate significant value for shareholders and all stakeholders, Krisna said. 

In the Subroto Award 2022 event, PHM won the field of Oil and Gas Safety and Utilization of Flare Gas in Oil and Gas Business Activities for the Category of Oil and Gas Work Safety Development. This award cooperates with contract contractors (K3S) and downstream oil and gas business license holders who excel without losing working hours because of accidents, oil and gas work safety guidance, and the use of flare gas in oil and gas business activities.

Another award that PHM has won in this event is the field of PNBP and Upstream Oil and Gas Financial Performance for the Category of Spurring The Increase in Upstream Oil and Gas Business Revenue through Cost Optimization. This award gave to K3S with maximum efforts to increase upstream oil and gas business revenue through various activities to optimize costs.

In 2021, PHM also won the Subroto Award in the Oil and Gas Safety Category without losing the working hours of an accident. The event organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is the fifth time since 2017. The Subroto Award names inspired by Prof. Dr. Subroto as Minister of Mines and Energy for the period 1978-1988. In 2022, this award ceremony is the framework of the 77th Anniversary of Mining and Energy.

The Subroto Award is the highest award given by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to stakeholders with extraordinary commitments and achievements in advancing the ESDM sector and contributing to energy availability in Indonesia. The joint agreement is to create environmentally friendly energy and meet the energy needs of all Indonesian people.
