PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Wins Two Awards at the 2026 Public Relations Indonesia Awards

Balikpapan – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) won two awards at the peak event of the Public Relations Indonesia Awards (PRIA) 2026 held in Yogyakarta on 13 February 2026. At the national public relations event, PHM received a Silver Winner award for the Komik Pesut Program in the Social Responsibility (SR) Communication Program, Community-Based Development subcategory. In addition, PHM also won a Bronze Winner award in the Sustainability Report category.

The awards ceremony was opened by Aria Nugrahadi, who attended on behalf of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. The event, organized by PR INDONESIA, carried the theme “Merajut Narasi dan Menguatkan Reputasi untuk Negeri” to emphasize the importance of strategic communication in building public trust in the attention economy era.

PHM General Manager, Setyo Sapto Edi, welcomed the awards as recognition of PHM’s commitment to implementing innovative, impactful, and sustainable Community Involvement and Development (CID) programs, as well as to successfully communicating these initiatives. “We invest in community engagement and development programs as a strategic step to support the sustainability of upstream oil and gas operations and enhance the Company’s reputation,” Setyo stated.

Meanwhile, Head of Communication Relations & CID PHM, Achmad Krisna Hadiyanto, said that the two awards demonstrate that PHM’s communication strategy is not only focused on image building but also on substance, impact, and sustainability. “PHM believes that effective communication must integrate creative innovation with data transparency and social relevance. Going forward, the Company will continue to strengthen the synergy between business strategy and sustainability communication to support the national energy transformation and sustainable development in Indonesia,” he added.

The Silver award was achieved through the Mahakam Dolphin Endemic Conservation/Komik Pesut Mahakam program, a creative communication initiative based on environmental education designed to raise public awareness, especially among the younger generation, about the importance of preserving the Mahakam River ecosystem and the habitat of the Mahakam dolphin. The program effectively delivers the Company’s sustainability messages in an easy-to-understand way. Komik Pesut serves not only as an educational medium but also as a tool to build emotional connections between the Company and communities around its operational areas.

The Bronze award in the Sustainability Report category recognizes PHM’s commitment to implementing transparency and accountability through performance reporting based on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. PHM’s sustainability report is prepared systematically and in a measurable manner, reflecting the Company’s performance in environmental management, social responsibility, and good corporate governance. This reporting represents the Company’s commitment to creating long-term value for stakeholders while strengthening its reputation as a responsible energy company.

PHM’s achievements at PRIA 2026 reaffirm its position as an upstream oil and gas company that not only focuses on production performance but also on strengthening ESG practices integrated across all operational and communication lines.
