Balikpapan – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) and the Badan Dakwah Islam (BDI) PHM held a Ramadan Safari event in Balikpapan on Sunday (8/3). This activity was part of the Company management’s Ramadan Safari visits across operational areas. During the event, the Company provided donations and school supplies to 20 children with disabilities (hearing and speech impairments) who are part of the Tuna Rungu Ngaji Program, fostered by BDI PHM.

PHM General Manager Setyo Sapto Edi, together with Head of SKK Migas Kalimantan Sulawesi Representative Azhari Idris, and Chairman of BDI PHM Robert Roy Antoni, directly handed over the assistance.

In his remarks, Setyo stated that the Ramadan Safari serves as a meaningful moment for the Company to strengthen social care by sharing with the community and fostering closer relationships with stakeholders. “We believe that harmonious relationships with all stakeholders will support the success and sustainability of the Company’s upstream oil and gas operations, which play an important role in ensuring national energy supply and resilience,” Setyo said.

Meanwhile, Azhari Idris welcomed the initiative. “This Ramadan Safari reflects the importance of synergy and collaboration among companies and stakeholders in supporting sustainable oil and gas operations while also strengthening relationships with the community,” he stated.

In addition to the distribution of assistance, the event also featured a religious talk (tausiyah) delivered by Ustadz Aulia Rahman, Lc., M.Si., who shared reflections on the importance of caring for others within families, communities, and workplaces. “The month of Ramadan is a moment to cultivate empathy and compassion, not only toward family but also toward the community and colleagues, so that the values of togetherness and mutual support can continue to be maintained in daily life,” he said.

The event concluded with a communal iftar that created a warm atmosphere of togetherness and family among stakeholders and community members. Through this Ramadan Safari, PHM hopes to continue spreading benefits and bringing happiness to the community, especially during this blessed month.
