Balikpapan – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) received a visit from the Head of the East Kalimantan Regional Police (Kapolda), Irjen Polisi Drs. Imam Sugianto, along with the ranks of the East Kalimantan Regional Police, to the Mahakam Working Area (WK) on December 6, 2022. This activity is the first time the East Kalimantan Police Chief visited after his inauguration in December 2021.
The East Kalimantan Regional Police team visited the Tunu Field Raises Rig and the Bekapai Field Tasha Rig to monitor and implement the security of National Vital Objects (obviates), namely the area and facilities of PHM oil and gas operations.
Imam Sugianto, in his speech, said, "Maintaining obvitnas is the responsibility of the East Kalimantan Regional Police, especially towards PHM and Pertamina. We strongly maintain and hope that the oil and gas activities carried out can run safely and smoothly to maintain national energy security. If there is a problem it can be coordinated and the police are ready to help facilitate the necessary resolution."
The Chief of Police was present with the ranks of the East Kalimantan Regional Police: Dir. Pamobvit Kombes Pol. Sugeng Utomo, S.H, S.I.K,MH, Dirintelkam Kombes Pol. Dedy Kusuma Bakti, S.I.K., M.T.C.P, and Karoops Kombes Pol. F. Barung Mangera, S.I.K, M.Han.
The East Kalimantan Regional Police discussed with PHM management regarding drilling activities carried out by the Company. In addition to visiting the drilling site with Rig Raises in the swamp area of Tunu Field located in Sepatin Village, Anggana District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, the group also reviewed the Tasha Rig, which is one of the offshore rigs in Bekapai Field.
PHM General Manager, Krisna, said that PHM welcomed the visit of the East Kalimantan Regional Police and hoped that this visit could support the improvement of the security aspects of PHM's oil and gas operations.
"We are grateful for the support from all stakeholders, especially the East Kalimantan Regional Police. Currently, PHM is one of the backbones of national gas production where 50% of production comes from the Tunu field," said Krisna.
The Head of SKK Migas Kalimantan and Sulawesi Representative Azhari Idris expressed their appreciation to the East Kalimantan Police Chief and his staff. "Security support through the Cooperation Agreement between SKK Migas and the East Kalimantan Regional Police for Upstream Oil and Gas is one of the priorities of SKK Migas. It is hoped that this visit can provide a reference in formulating a more effective security strategy in maintaining and protecting obvitnas, especially in Kalimantan and Sulawesi," he said.
PHM continues to collaborate with all stakeholders, especially SKK Migas, local governments, police, and the community, by the values of Collaborative AKHLAK to maintain the safety and security of the Company's oil and gas operations.
