Anggana, Kutai Kartanegara – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) continued to support the government’s efforts to strengthen young people's capacity through the PHM Mengajar Program, which returned to SMA Negeri 1 Anggana, Kutai Kartanegara, on 3 November 2025. This session featured workers from PHM’s Central Processing Unit (CPU) Field who shared knowledge and inspiring experiences about upstream oil and gas activities and their work in meeting national energy needs.
A total of 62 students took part in the activity. They were enthusiastic throughout the session and actively engaged with questions. Previously, PHM Mengajar was held at SMK Negeri 1 Anggana on 8 September 2025, focusing on disaster mitigation.
Head of PHM CPU Field, Alien Feliska, explained that the program was part of PHM’s ongoing commitment to implementing the Company’s social and environmental responsibility initiatives. He noted that the program aimed to motivate students to study harder, with the hope of helping reduce dropout rates in Anggana District. “As members of the community, PHM and its workers continue to take part in positive initiatives that support community development and independence,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SMAN 1 Anggana, Dikwas S.Pd., M.Pd., expressed his appreciation to PHM, especially the CPU Field, for consistently involving the school in education-based CSR programs. “We are very proud to have PHM here to share knowledge with our students. We hope our students will not only learn more about PHM but also be inspired to pursue careers in the upstream oil and gas sector, which is a major industry in Anggana. This way, they can contribute to the future development of our district,” he said.
Dony Indrawan, Manager of Communication Relations & CID at PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), emphasized the Company’s commitment to ensuring that its upstream oil and gas operations continue to support economic growth, community independence, and environmental sustainability in line with efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “This activity aligns with the achievement of SDG Goal 4, which focuses on inclusive, equitable, and quality education, as well as promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all,” Dony explained.
He added that PHI and its subsidiaries, including PHM, implement Community Involvement Development (CID) programs in the education sector to support the government’s efforts to improve education infrastructure and facilities, strengthen local institutions, and develop human resources around the Company’s operational areas in Kalimantan. Through initiatives such as PHM Mengajar, the Company continues to demonstrate its commitment to developing high-quality human resources in the communities surrounding its operations. The program not only serves as a platform for sharing knowledge and experience about the oil and gas sector but also reflects the Company’s real contribution to strengthening education quality and empowering young people in coastal areas. “We believe that education is one of the key foundations for building independent and broad-minded communities, and for creating a better future for the next generation,” he concluded.
