PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Holds Socialization of the Dangers of Drug Abuse and HIV AIDS Virus Disease for the Young Generation of Samboja

Senipah - PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), through the PHM Task Force Team, carried out socialization of the dangers of drug abuse and HIV/Aids disease with the theme "Protect Yourself From HIV/Aids Disease And Stay Away From Drugs For Your Achievements And Future". This activity is part of PHM's commitment to continuously support community development, especially youth, in the company's operational areas.

PHM General Manager, Krisna, said that the company believes that the success of the company's Environmental Social Responsibility (TJSL) program is the result of collaboration between the company, beneficiaries, supporting partners, and all stakeholders. 

"This socialization program to encourage youth in the Samboja area to care about their future and become resilient youth to build a resilient Kutai Kartanegara," explained Krisna.

Drug and HIV Aids Socialization activities were conducted at two locations: Senipah Village and Handil Baru Village. The first socialization was held at SMK pesisir sanipah with 50 participants consisting of 25 students from SMK Pesisir Samboja and 25 students of SMA Islam Senipah Samboja (5/11/2022).

The second socialization was held at the MTS Ulumuddin Samboja meeting house with 50 participants consisting of 25 MTS Ulumuddin students, 15 PGRI Samboja Junior High School students, and ten students of SMP 6 Samboja (9/11/2022). 

This socialization presented several speakers, namely Dr. Otto and Leo Handirjat SKM, Up Kanit Reskrim Polsek Samboja Iptu Sucipto, and the head of the adolescent health division midwife Sri Kartini. Also present in the activity were Kasatpol PP Samboja District, Jumadi S., Lurah Senipah Taufikurachman, Lurah Handil Baru Ahmad Sapi'i, and Babinsa and Babinkamtibmas.

"This activity aims to make students of productive age understand the dangers of drug use and the dangers of the HIV/Aids virus for the body and threaten the future. Hoping that this socialization can be useful to reduce the increasing number of drug use and HIV Aids virus sufferers every year," said Iptu Sucipto. 

Meanwhile, Taufikurachman, on occasion, said that we hope the youth can know more about the dangers and impacts that occur and stay away from drugs and promiscuity.

"The role of parents, society, and the government is to continue to socialize the negative impacts of drugs and promiscuity to make youth resilient and responsible," he concluded.
