PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timurs Islamic Outreach Organization Spreads Kindness and Generosity During Ramadan

Penajam Paser Utara– In celebration of Ramadan 1446 H, PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT), through its Islamic Outreach Organization/Badan Dakwah Islam (BDI) at Terminal Lawe-Lawe and Santan, launched a social initiative titled “BDI Charity for the Less Fortunate: Ramadan Celebration.” This program aims to support underprivileged communities, enhance social solidarity, and provide meaningful assistance to those in need, particularly orphans and low-income families.

As part of this initiative, BDI PHKT Terminal Lawe-Lawe organized iftar gatherings at two orphanages, Uswatun Hasanah Orphanage in Penajam on March 15, 2025, and Al-Ikhlas Orphanage in Nenang, Penajam on March 21, 2025. Beyond sharing meals, the organization also donated school supplies to the children, offering them better educational support.

Additionally, throughout Ramadan, the program distributed free iftar meals (takjil) at several mosques near Terminal Lawe-Lawe on ten occasions. This effort helped facilitate the community’s iftar and reinforced the values of togetherness and sharing during the holy month.

The Chairperson of BDI Terminal Lawe-Lawe expressed that this initiative reflects BDI PHKT’s dedication to supporting those in need, especially during Ramadan. “We hope this program brings relief to many and inspires a greater spirit of generosity among employees and the wider community,” he stated.

To further extend its outreach, BDI PHKT distributed 100 staple food packages to underprivileged families around Terminal Lawe-Lawe. In collaboration with local authorities, these donations were delivered directly to recipients' homes (door-to-door), ensuring they reached the most deserving individuals.

The Chairperson of BDI Terminal Lawe-Lawe conveyed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the initiative's success. “May Allah SWT bless everyone involved with abundant rewards, health, and prosperity. Jazakumullahu khairan katsiran. May our collective efforts bring lasting benefits to the community,” he said.

In the spirit of solidarity, PHKT, in collaboration with BDI Santan Terminal, also provided 100 staple food packages to residents in three villages, Semangko, Sebuntal, and Kersik, in Marangkayu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The donations were officially handed over to village leaders in a formal ceremony on March 17, 2025.

Through this ongoing commitment to community welfare, PHKT hopes to continue fostering a culture of compassion, unity, and social responsibility.
