Jakarta - PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT), through the Innovation of Fospor Esco (Floating Oil Skimmer with Pneumatic Pump–Easy Simple & Low Cost) and Doctor (Dam Oil Collector with Floater), won the Gold Prize. And at the same time, Special Prize from Saudi Arabia at the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) 2002, which took place on November 16-19, 2022). PHKT is part of the Pertamina Innovation Team, the Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) Cluster Team.

In a prestigious event attended by more than 477 innovation works from 16 countries, Pertamina Innovation Team sent five positions and received prestigious categories: BEST INVENTOR, 2 GOLD Categories, 2 SILVER categories, and 1 BRONZE category, as well as 7 Special Awards. 

VP Organization Capability of PT Pertamina (Persero) Rini Widiastuti explained that as an energy company, Pertamina consistently implements high-standard Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) management. This commitment is to ensure that Pertamina's innovation is also proven to be superior internationally. "This brilliant achievement shows that Pertamina's Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) has proven superior in the international arena," said Rini. 

Representing the management of PHKT in this event, Superintendent Production of Santan Terminal Binto Iskandar Tobing explained that the FOSPOR PHKT team appreciated the mandate, opportunity, and support PHKT had given to the team during the SIIF 2002 activities.

"The innovation of Fospor Esco and Doctor is a tool to carry out oil recovery on wastewater pits as well as a tool for handling spilled oil in the waters. We hope that this innovation can be a motivation for other colleagues and that this innovation can provide broad benefits in the international arena," added Binto. 

SIIF was organized offline this year by the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA). This event aims to showcase innovative and novelty technologies from various countries, create international business opportunities and initiate industrial transformation. This year, more than 16 countries attended the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF), including Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and others.
