Yogyakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) has once again achieved a proud milestone by securing the Platinum Winner title at the Public Relations Indonesia Award (PRIA) 2026. The Platinum Winner predicate is awarded to corporate entities that obtain the highest number of awards in the State-Owned Enterprise Subsidiary sector. This achievement further demonstrates the PHI Group's consistency in building integrated, credible, and impactful communication. The PRIA 2026 awarding night was held at Taman Budaya Embung Giwangan, Yogyakarta, on Friday (13/2/2026).
The event, organized by PR INDONESIA, carried the theme “Weaving a Narrative and Strengthening the Country's Reputation” to emphasize the importance of strategic communication in building public trust in the attention economy era. Founder and CEO of PR INDONESIA magazine, Asmono Wikan, stated that this appreciation is expected to encourage the emergence of public relations practitioners at the strategic level. “In the future, more organizations are expected to be able to drive the dynamics of strategic public relations,” said Asmono.
The awarding ceremony was opened by Aria Nugrahadi, who attended on behalf of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. In his remarks, he emphasized that trust has become the most valuable asset amid the rapid flow of information today. The role of public relations is no longer administrative but strategic, capable of determining organizational sustainability through proactive and data-driven issue management.
Manager Communication Relations & CID PHI, Dony Indrawan, stated that this achievement reflects the Company’s communication function's transformation into a more strategic role within the PHI Group. “This award affirms our commitment to positioning communication as a strategic foundation that strengthens business performance and corporate reputation. Amid the dynamics of the energy industry and increasing public expectations, we ensure that every narrative we build is aligned with operational performance, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, as well as the Company’s tangible contributions to society and the nation,” he said.
At PRIA 2026, in addition to winning the Platinum Winner title, PHI also brought home awards in various categories, namely Gold Winner INSAN PR INDONESIA (Dony Indrawan), Sustainability Report, Annual Report, PR Department, Digital Channel (PHI Portal Application), Owned Media (Internal Magazine Energia Kalimantan 9th Edition), and Public Affairs (Stakeholder Management Program).
Several of PHI’s subsidiaries and affiliates received awards in the Social Responsibility (SR) Communication Program category, Community-Based Development subcategory. This reflects the PHI Group’s consistent integration of communication strategies with sustainable community empowerment programs. At PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), the Endemic Mahakam Dolphin Conservation Program (Komik Pesut) won a Silver Winner award. The program focuses on education and community involvement in conserving the Mahakam dolphin as an endemic species of the Mahakam River. It combines creative communication approaches with real conservation actions to strengthen ecological awareness and build multi-stakeholder collaboration in preserving biodiversity.
Another PHI subsidiary, PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT), won a Silver Winner award through the Smart and Food-Insight Mushroom Cultivation Program (Semur Cendawan). The program integrates the Eco Mushroom Integrated System innovation with food security and community entrepreneurship, providing adaptive and environmentally friendly economic solutions. Meanwhile, PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS), through its Organic Waste Bioconversion Program “Biokosmo,” received a Bronze Winner award for developing a community-based circular economy model. This initiative encourages the management of organic waste into valuable products while strengthening local environmental and economic capacity in a structured and sustainable manner.
In the coastal area of North Kalimantan, PHI’s affiliate, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tarakan Field, received a Bronze Award through the Akar Basah Program, which enhances community economic resilience by empowering local communities through local potential-based development, competency development, and continuous support. The Bronze Winner title was also awarded to PEP Bunyu Field through the Kerabat Bunyu Program, which focuses on strengthening local youth capacity through leadership development, skills training, and entrepreneurship to create long-term socio-economic impact.
