PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Shares Ramadan Joy Through Donations to Over 600 Orphans

Jakarta – Embracing the spirit of togetherness and compassion during the holy month of Ramadan, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), through its subsidiaries and affiliates operating in Zona 8, 9, and 10, once again distributed donations to orphans living near its operational areas in East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and North Kalimantan. Through this initiative, more than 600 orphans from 23 orphanages benefited from this charitable program.

The donations distributed throughout the holy month reached nearly IDR 300 million, accompanied by basic food packages worth over IDR 200 million. This program is a tangible form of PHI’s ongoing commitment to contribute to society, especially in the company's operating regions.

President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia, Sunaryanto, stated that this program is part of the company’s social responsibility and an effort to bring joy to those in need. “We believe that togetherness and compassion are core values we must continue to uphold, especially during Ramadan. We hope this support brings real benefits to the orphans and helps them celebrate Eid al-Fitr with joy,” he said.

More than just a social action, the unity fostered through this program also reflects the fundamental values within the national energy industry. PHI recognizes that sustainable energy resilience depends on company operations and synergy among the company, the community, and all stakeholders. According to Anto, as Sunaryanto is commonly called, in carrying out its duties as part of Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding, PHI continuously promotes collaboration to ensure a reliable energy supply for the country.

“Support from various parties, including the government, business partners, and the community, is essential to ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly oil and gas operations,” he added.

PHI’s Manager of Communication Relations & CID, Dony Indrawan, shared that the company organizes various care and sharing programs through collaboration with employees and external stakeholders. “We believe that the success of programs like this can only be achieved through collective support,” he explained.

According to Dony, through its corporate social responsibility programs, PHI strives to be a key player in fulfilling the nation’s energy needs and a trusted partner in the social and economic development of surrounding communities.

Sunaryanto also added that all PHI initiatives are aligned with the core values of AKHLAK—Amanah (Trustworthy), Kompeten (Competent), Harmonis (Harmonious), Loyal, Adaptif (Adaptive), and Kolaboratif (Collaborative), which serve as the cultural foundation within the Pertamina Group. “These values drive PHI to work with integrity, uphold professionalism, strengthen bonds with the community, and adapt to industry challenges to create sustainable positive impact,” he added.

This Ramadan donation program also embodies the spirit of cooperation and social care that PHI and all its subsidiaries consistently uphold. “With the spirit of sharing, PHI hopes to continue positively impacting communities and strengthening the relationship between the company and those around it,” he concluded.
