Bogor – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) held a webinar on Social Innovation for Community Empowerment to Realize Independence. The webinar by around 260 participants, consisting of academics, students, companies, and extension workers throughout Indonesia (27/09). The webinar is a collaboration between PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) and PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tanjung, Sangatta, and Sangasanga Field, which are subsidiaries and affiliates of PHI in Zone 9, in collaboration with CARE LPPM IPB.

Present as speakers of the Director General of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control (PPKL) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) Sigit Reliantoro, Rector of IPB University Arif Satria, and General Manager of Zona 9 Andre Wijanarko. On this occasion, four Local Heroes of Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Zone 9 Community Development Program also participated as resource persons, Sutrimo, Triyono, Rosmini, and Juhin.

Head of CARE IPB Didik Suhardjito conveyed the purpose of this webinar to increase knowledge and understanding of social innovation, build communication, cooperation, and a conducive and productive scientific atmosphere in community empowerment programs, and share the thoughts, innovation, and experiences of community empowerment professionals to the webinar participants.

On this occasion, IPB University Rector Arif Satria explained the Agromaritim 4.0 Innovation developed by IPB. Those modern agricultural methods are expected to be adopted and applied in various regions in Indonesia. "Currently, IPB University has carried out the One Village One CEO program, a cooperation program between farmers, universities, and local governments in 126 districts and cities in 26 provinces. IPB University has also built People's Animal Husbandry Schools in 11 provinces," said Arif.

General Manager of Zona 9 Andre Wijanarko said that the company has implemented various Community Development Programs (PPM) or CSR that produce social innovations.

"The CSR programs that have been carried out include the Fisheries Cultivation Program of Kapar Inovatif Village (Perisakti), the Sangatta Selatan Kelulut Honey Program, the Setaria Group Social Innovation System Integrated Farmer Program (Tante Siska), and the Water Supply System (WSS) or Community-Based Clean Water Management in Saliki Village," explained Andre.

According to Andre, the success of the company's CSR program is the collaboration between the company, beneficiaries, supporting partners, and all other stakeholders.

"The Company's CSR programs have received appreciation from various circles, including from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) with the achievement of Gold Proper and Green Proper from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry for oil and gas fields in Zona 9. We also won awards at the national and international levels," added Andre.

Meanwhile, Sigit Reliantoro expressed his support for this webinar because it succeeded in presenting local heroes in CSR programs as proof of the transformation of community capacity building. "Social innovation must produce transformation in society through structural changes, creating new relationships and the participation of more actors," he said.
