Jakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), through its subsidiaries and affiliates, has successfully secured six Green category awards in the 2025 Corporate Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management (PROPER) organized by the Ministry of Environment (KLH). These PROPER Green awards reflect government recognition of PHI Group’s performance in environmental management and community empowerment, which has been assessed as exceeding regulatory compliance (beyond compliance).

The awards were presented by the Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, at an event held at Sasono Langen Budoyo, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4/2026). “PROPER is no longer merely an administrative evaluation tool. It is a transformation driver that encourages companies not only to comply, but to go beyond compliance through innovation, resource efficiency, and tangible contributions to society,” said Minister Hanif in his remarks.

The PHI subsidiaries and affiliates receiving the awards include PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) North Operations Area (DOBU), PHKT South Operations Area (DOBS), PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Bunyu Field, PEP Tarakan Field, and PEP Sangatta – Semberah Field.

PHI President Director, Sunaryanto, expressed his gratitude for the PROPER awards. He appreciated the support of all employees and stakeholders for the Company’s efforts in environmental management and community development. “This award is the result of strong collaboration with all stakeholders, including the government and communities in our operational areas, in realizing sustainable development and national energy resilience in line with the Government’s Asta Cita agenda,” he stated.

According to Sunaryanto, the achievement of these PROPER Green awards demonstrates the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles in conducting safe, reliable, environmentally friendly, and sustainable upstream oil and gas operations.

PHI Manager Communication Relations & CID, Dony Indrawan, highlighted the Company’s commitment to supporting community development around its operational areas through various CSR programs. “At PHI, we implement several flagship CSR programs that are innovative and impactful, including the Akar Basah Garang Program from PEP Tarakan Field, the Mantap Betul Program from PEP Bunyu Field, the ECO STEP Program from PEP Sangatta – Semberah Field, the Kersik Tourism Village Program from PHKT DOBU, the Semur Cendawan Program from PHKT DOBS, and the Wasteco Program from PHM,” he explained.

The ECO STEP program at PEP Sangatta – Semberah Field focuses on energy efficiency and environmental management. In ecological conservation, PHKT DOBU successfully implemented the Ecological Strengthening of the Kersik Tourism Village Program by planting 200 Casuarina equisetifolia seedlings in the Pantai Biru Kersik area, Marangkayu District. Meanwhile, PHKT DOBS initiated the SEMUR CENDAWAN (Smart and Food-Oriented Mushroom Cultivation) program as an innovative step toward food security based on mushroom cultivation.

In waste management, PEP Tarakan promotes the AKAR BASAH (Alliance for Zero Waste Action) program, encouraging communities to participate in waste reduction actively. PEP Bunyu introduced the MANTAP BETUL BAH (Fern Root Planting Media for Superior Bunyu Agriculture, Rainwater Basin) program, utilizing local resources for sustainable agriculture. Additionally, PHM contributes through the Wasteco program, which focuses on converting organic waste into renewable energy in an efficient and sustainable manner.

Dony added that the Company continues to enhance its environmental management and community empowerment performance through adaptive and collaborative program innovations. He emphasized that this achievement is expected not only to motivate the Company to maintain beyond compliance standards but also to create added value for communities and the environment surrounding its operational areas.

“The achievement of these six PROPER Green awards aligns with the Company’s commitment to implementing sustainability principles in upstream oil and gas operations.
