The awards were presented during the 2025 SKK Migas–Cooperation Contract Contractors/Kontraktor Kontrak Kerja Sama (KKKS) Security Working Meeting held in Bogor on 28–29 October 2025.

PHM took home two awards: Best Security Performance for KKKS in Region II (Kalimantan–Sulawesi) for its comprehensive security performance in the Work Program & Budget (WP&B) discussions and Security Contract Technical Approvals, and Best Innovation in Security Management for Region II for its innovative implementation of security technologies across its operations. PHKT received the Best Upstream Oil and Gas Security Management (MPHM) Score for Region II, earning the highest audit score of 94.60 percent. Meanwhile, Pertamina EP Tarakan Field won the Best Security Budget Utilization for Region II award for effectively and efficiently managing its security budget.

Agung Darmawan, Senior Manager for Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) at PHI Regional 3 Kalimantan, expressed gratitude for the recognitions earned by the PHI Security team. He noted that these awards underscored SKK Migas’ acknowledgment of the Company’s strategic and tactical efforts to enhance upstream oil and gas operational safety. “This achievement inspires us to keep improving the quality of our security performance, strengthening cross-functional coordination, and developing proactive measures to address evolving security risks in the upstream industry. We hope this motivates us to maintain our best performance standards in the years ahead,” he said.

The 2025 SKK Migas–KKKS Security Working Meeting carried the theme “Transforming Upstream Oil and Gas Security Toward an Integrated, Preemptive, Collaborative, and Sustainable National Energy Security Ecosystem.” The forum was attended by stakeholders from SKK Migas, KKKS, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the Indonesian National Police, and regional governments. It served as a platform for synergy, emphasizing the critical role of security in ensuring operational continuity and safeguarding Indonesia’s energy sovereignty.

This year, PHI was entrusted by SKK Migas to coordinate the implementation of the strategic forum, with Doddy T. Z. Akbari, Manager of Security for PHI Regional 3 Kalimantan, serving as the event chairman.

Agung affirmed that PHI views security not merely as a support function but as a strategic investment that underpins productivity, sustainability, and public trust in the upstream oil and gas sector. Through an adaptive and intelligence-driven approach, combined with technology and cross-agency collaboration, PHI, SKK Migas, and KKKS partners continue to shift the security paradigm, from reactive to preemptive, from sectoral to integrated, and from cost-based to a pillar of national strategic value.

Meanwhile, PHI President Director Sunaryanto stated that the awards presented to the PHI Group represent more than performance recognition. They reflect a new direction in Indonesia’s upstream security landscape, positioning security as an infrastructure of trust. “Amid the convergence of social, digital, and geopolitical threats, PHI and its subsidiaries and affiliates remain committed to integrating security across operational governance, workforce development, and community empowerment to build a resilient and inclusive operating ecosystem,” said Sunaryanto, known familiarly as Anto.

Anto added that the Company continues to foster continuous improvement through innovation and technology in securing upstream operations and business activities as national vital objects, enabling the delivery of safe, reliable, compliant, and sustainable energy.

Through collaboration and innovation, Anto emphasized, PHI is committed to contributing to the realization of the 2025–2030 National Upstream Oil and Gas Security Grand Design, which positions security as the foundation of the country’s energy resilience. “Ultimately, security goes beyond being a protective shield; it becomes a currency of trust and national resilience that ensures Indonesia’s energy keeps flowing for the nation’s progress and independence,” he concluded.

The 2025 Upstream Oil and Gas Security Working Meeting also marked significant progress in the transformation of national security through the launch of several initiatives, including the digital risk-reporting system PERISAI (Pelaporan Risiko dan Sistem Analitik Insiden), the development of the National Energy Security Dashboard as a cross-agency collaboration hub, and stronger community participation through the Community-Based Security concept and the Community Early Warning System (CEWS). In addition, the simplification of explosives (Handak) licensing processes and the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles formed part of the broader strategy to build sustainable, transparent, and ethical security systems.
