PT Pertamina EP Tarakan Field Holds Blood Donation Event for National OSH Month, Collecting 158 Bags of Blood

Tarakan, North Kalimantan – In commemoration of the 2025 National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Month, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tarakan Field organized a blood donation drive at two locations, the Melati Mess Hall in Tarakan Field and the Flamboyan Office Hall in Sembakung, on February 19, 2025. The event successfully collected a total of 158 bags of blood.

PEP Tarakan Field collaborated with the Blood Transfusion Unit of RSUD dr. H. Jusuf SK in Tarakan and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in Nunukan, Sembakung. The blood donation event at the Melati Mess Hall was attended by 98 employees, who collected 88 bags of blood. Meanwhile, 78 employees participated in the event at the Flamboyan Office Hall in Sembakung, contributing 70 bags of blood.

Field Manager of PEP Tarakan Field, Cahyo Tri Mulyanto, emphasized that the blood donation initiative is a social action by the company and its employees to support healthcare services in Tarakan and surrounding areas, mainly by contributing to blood supply availability. He highlighted that the blood donation drive reflects the company's commitment to supporting blood availability at public health facilities and strengthening collaboration with various stakeholders.

"We believe that health and safety are fundamental aspects of our operations. Through this blood donation initiative, we hope to provide tangible benefits to those in need and encourage more people to participate in this humanitarian effort," said Cahyo.

Head of Communication Relations & CID Zona 10, Dharma Saputra, explained that blood donation activities within the company are conducted regularly through coordination with the Health Team at Tarakan Field. "At PEP Tarakan Field, we aim to continue contributing to maintaining blood stock availability at hospitals and other healthcare facilities in Tarakan," he stated.

The National OSH Month observed throughout February, serves as a platform for PEP Tarakan Field to reinforce a culture of occupational safety and health among employees and the broader community. In addition to the blood donation drive, the company also held a series of other activities, including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid training, Light Fire Extinguisher/Alat Pemadam Api Ringan (APAR) and fire Blanket training, the Fire Fitness Challenge, Fire Combat Challenge, and First Aid Challenge.
