PT Pertamina EP Tarakan Accompanies SKK Migas KalimantanSulawesi (Kalsul) on a Working Visit to the Tarakan City Government

Tarakan, North Kalimantan – PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tarakan Field accompanied SKK Migas Kalimantan and Sulawesi (Kalsul) Representative Office for the Formality and Institutional Division on a working visit to the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Development Agency/Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Daerah, Penelitian, dan Pengembangan (Bappeda Litbang) of Tarakan City, North Kalimantan, on Monday (September 15, 2025). The working visit served as a coordination platform between SKK Migas Kalsul and the local government in upstream oil and gas operational areas in Kalimantan.

During the meeting, SKK Migas Kalsul Analyst for Formality and Communication, M. Ary Bagus Pratomo, explained the role of SKK Migas in supervising the implementation of upstream oil and gas activities by the Cooperation Contract Contractors/Kontraktor Kontrak Kerja Sama (KKKS), including PEP Tarakan Field. He emphasized that upstream oil and gas activities were part of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia's mandate in realizing national energy security, in line with Asta Cita, particularly energy self-sufficiency. Therefore, support and synergy with local governments were essential factors for the success of operations in upstream oil and gas working areas.

Furthermore, Ary elaborated on the difference between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in general and the PPM program implemented by KKKS under the coordination of SKK Migas. “The Community Involvement and Development (CID) Program/Program Pelibatan dan Pengembangan Masyarakat (PPM) was carried out systematically, planned, and measurable, emphasizing the participation and involvement of communities and stakeholders in operational areas,” he explained.

Head of Bappeda Litbang Tarakan City, Dr. Catur Hendratmo, S.T.P., M.M., expressed his appreciation for PEP Tarakan’s contribution in supporting local development programs. “We directly observed PEP Tarakan’s CSR programs, such as stunting prevention and mangrove planting activities. These programs aligned with the development priorities of the Tarakan City Government,” he said.

On the same occasion, Catur also mentioned the plan to reactivate the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Forum as a coordination platform among companies operating within the administrative area of Tarakan City. The forum was expected to strengthen synergy among companies and ensure that TJSL activity reporting was carried out centrally through Bappeda Litbang.

During the working visit, Dharma Saputra, Head of Communication Relations & CID Zona 10, presented the implementation of PEP Tarakan’s Community Involvement & Development (CID) programs. As a follow-up to the meeting, PEP Tarakan submitted the 2025 First Semester CID Program Implementation Report to Bappeda Litbang Tarakan City. This step was part of the effort to strengthen coordination and ensure transparency of information regarding the Company’s social program implementation. The Head of Bappeda Litbang Tarakan City welcomed the initiative and affirmed that the one-door reporting mechanism would continue to be strengthened to maintain transparency and synergy in implementing CSR or CID programs within Tarakan City.

Through synergy with SKK Migas and the Tarakan City Government, PEP Tarakan remained committed to ensuring that the Company’s upstream oil and gas operations and business activities contributed to economic growth, community empowerment, and environmental sustainability, in line with efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
