As part of this effort, the company organized the Management Goes to Community (MGTC) event in the area on January 7, 2025. This initiative is part of the Management Walkthrough (MWT) and the 2025 Management Review Meeting (RTM) conducted by the management team.

The event occurred at South Mountain Ecotourism, located near the company's operational area in Kampung Satu Village, Tarakan City. The General Manager of Zona 10, Yoseph Agung Prihartono, led the event, accompanied by Bunyu Field Senior Manager Despredi Akbar and Tarakan Field Manager Cahyo Tri Mulyanto. Representatives from Gapoktan Hutan Lestari and the Tarakan City Forest Management Unit/Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan (KPH) were also in attendance.

GM Zona 10, Yoseph Agung Prihartono, emphasized that the MGTC initiative reflects the company's commitment to supporting community development and environmental conservation programs. During the event, he symbolically handed over infrastructure support for the development of South Mountain Ecotourism. "This contribution is a follow-up to the Cooperation Agreement/Perjanjian Kerja Sama (PKS) between the Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership Agency of the Kalimantan Region under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), PT Pertamina EP Tarakan Field, and Gapoktan Hutan Lestari Gunung Selatan," he explained.

Yoseph highlighted that MGTC aims to strengthen relationships between the company's management, local partners, and the community while demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability in its operational areas. "We hope this program will not only contribute to environmental conservation but also enhance the well-being of the local community through sustainable ecotourism," he said.

He also noted that collaboration between the company and the community helps ensure environmental sustainability while boosting the local economy through community-based ecotourism. As part of the event, the management team planted trap and rambutan trees to gesture their dedication to environmental preservation.

Zulkipli, chairman of Gapoktan Hutan Lestari Gunung Selatan and a respected local leader welcomed the initiative and expressed his gratitude for Pertamina's support. "This assistance is invaluable in helping us develop this ecotourism area in a more sustainable and impactful way," he said.
