Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Receives a Visit from the Deputy Head of SKK Migas to ensure that oil and gas lifting is carried out optimally towards the end of 2022

Senipah -  The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) conducted a working visit and supervised oil and gas lifting to PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM).

This working visit was attended by the Deputy Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), Mr. Nanang Abdul Manaf. Accompanied by the VP of Operations of SKK Migas Pusat, Bagus Bina Edvantoro; Acting Head of Exploration Planning Division of SKK Migas Pusat, Sunjaya Eka Saputra; Head of SKK Migas KalSul Representative, Azhari Idris; along with other management ranks.
The field visited by SKK Migas is the Senipah Peciko South Mahakam (SPS) Field owned by PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), which is part of the Pertamina Subholding Upstream Regional Kalimantan.

From January 1 to December 20, 2022, Senipah Terminal made 26 oil shipments, averaging 2-3 times per month. And for the rest of December 2022, PHM will lift on December 30 and 31, 2022.

"First of all, in my remarks, we should be proud that Indonesia is a country built from the results of Oil and Gas. Related to the oil and gas industry, that until some time in the future, the oil and gas sector is still vital and needed as a driving force for the Indonesian economy," said Nanang.
Furthermore, Nanang said that PHM would increasingly need the role of oil and gas in the future amid the energy transition process that is currently underway. "Oil and gas will continue to be increasingly needed because of its role not only as an energy source but also as a development capital as a raw material for various industries such as petrochemicals, fertilizers, and others," said Nanang.

However, continued Nanang, the era of easy oil no longer exists, and now the challenges are increasingly challenging. Therefore, all PSCs are urged to be able to aggressively explore a form of savings to be commercialized sometime in the future.

"I hope that in order for KKKS to focus on the operational aspect, I am ready to support KKKS in fulfilling the target in 2030, namely oil production of 1 million barrels per day (BOPD) and gas of 12 billion cubic feet per day (BSCFD)," explained Nanang.

Meanwhile, related to operational commitments, the General Manager of PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam, Raam Krisna, said PHM strives to continue to apply various innovations and technologies to increase the recovery rate of existing oil and gas wells.

"We continue striving to contain the decline rate in natural production. By applying best engineering practices in production operations, drilling, well intervention / well connection, maintenance/inspection works supported by the implementation of SUPREME in maintaining and improving the reliability of PHM operating and production facilities," said Krisna.

In addition, Krisna added, all these efforts are also made to meet the 2022 WP&B target, namely for the achievement of Gas production of 550 MMscfd and Oil production of 19,500 BOPD.

As of December 28, 2022, PHM recorded that the average PHM production for gas reached 520 MMscfd, and oil production reached 24,961 BOPD. This proves that PHM has achieved 97% of gas production and 99% of oil production from the WP&B target mutually agreed upon between SKK Migas and PHM.

"This is all the result of the hard work of all PHM Officers and excellent collaboration with all stakeholders. Especially with the Government both at the Center and with the Regions, SKK Migas Pusat and KalSul Representatives, as well as with PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) as our parent company," concluded Krisna.

In addition, Krisna also explained that the provision of incentives from the Government of Indonesia in early 2021 has opened up opportunities for PHM to continue the Mahakam WK development work program more extensively, including new good exploration programs.

"We have succeeded in realizing well spud in 2022, namely 96 development wells and one exploration well. This is, of course, a tangible manifestation of PHM's efforts to contain the rate of decline in production and support the achievement of the national oil and gas production target," added Krisna.

Director of PHI, Chalid Said Salim, said that the achievement of PHM production is inseparable from the contribution of the Jumelai, North Sisi, North Nubi (JSN) project, which was on stream on May 20, 2022, ago. In this regard, Chalid explained that the immense production from the Jumelai Field supports current and future national oil and gas needs and is the driving force of the Indonesian economy, especially in East Kalimantan Province.

"This is a tangible manifestation of the Kalimantan Regional commitment to continue to strive to provide national energy," said Chalid.
