Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Receives PMI Award on Commemoration of World Blood Donor Day

Jakarta- PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) received an award from the Board of Indonesian Red Cross South Jakarta Branch for its active role in the humanitarian activity "Blood Donor" (6/15).

The award was given to PHI's blood donor activity that was carried out to commemorate World Blood Donor Day on June 14. The motto was "Save Lives, Improve Health", and it was organized in collaboration with the Blood Donor Unit (UDD) of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) South Jakarta Branch. As many as 147 PHI workers participated in the activity.

Dr. Danny Satrya Nugroho, PHI-Region 3 Health Manager, described the many benefits of donating blood, especially for those who need it.
"For donors, donating blood improves health. The blood donor activity can promote social awareness to the Company's employees and inspire them to share and help others," said dr. Danny.

According to dr. Danny, World Blood Donor Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of safe blood and blood products. A day is also a form of appreciation to blood donors who voluntarily donate blood to save many lives.

Mundari, Head of Resources Development (PSD) of PMI South Jakarta Branch, said that during the COVID-19 pandemic, blood is in short supply, which might be due to people's concerns about donating blood.

"As there are blood shortages, we welcome and appreciate the blood donor activity hosted by PHI, which can help PMI increase the amount of blood supply for people who need it," said Mundari.

Mundari also added that a drop of blood means a lot to those who need it, so PMI hopes PHI can continue its blood donor activities with strict health protocols in place.
