Balikpapan - PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) and its subsidiaries and affiliates operating in the Kalimantan region consistently encourage the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
President Director of PHI, John Anis, said that the company consistently implements various social and environmental innovations in the implementation of CSR programs so that it can have a significant and sustainable impact. John conveyed this at the Kalimantan Sulawesi 2023 National Capacity Forum (Forkapnas Kalsul 2023) in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan (04-05/07/2023).
Forkapnas Kalsul 2023 is a collaboration between SKK Migas, KKKS, and Goods and Services Provider Partners, attended by Regional Leaders in the Kalimantan &; Sulawesi regions. This activity displayed platforms of various industries and MSMEs assisted by upstream oil and gas. MSMEs are one of the motors of the national economy, expected to drive social life in the upcoming National Capital City (IKN).
"We collaborate with all stakeholders, especially the community and government, in carrying out the company's CSR programs to create benefits and value that is enjoyed together (creating shared value)," said John.
A total of six groups of MSME partners fostered by the company were present at the Forkapnas 2023 event. Zona 8 features two partners enabled by PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), Methan Manggar Gas Blessing Group, and Naga Lestari Group. Zone 9 is present with the Bukwiskula Group assisted by Pertamina EP (PEP) Sangasanga Field and the Barokah Group PEP Tanjung Field. Zone 10 complements the diversity of work of the Company's CSR partners with the Mandara Innovation Craft Cooperative, assisted by PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT), and the Jaipongan Group, assisted by PEP Tarakan Field.
All fostered partners had the opportunity to dialogue with regional leaders, SKK Migas leaders, and KKKS leaders. Deputy Head of SKK Migas, Nanang Abdul Manaf, appreciated various innovative competitive products created by the company's fostered partner groups, ranging from herbal drinks and handicrafts from coconut husk to different processed foods based on local wisdom.
"The Company's support to encourage increased sales of MSME products is needed to form sustainable economic turnover," explained Nanang.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Tarakan, dr. Khairul, M.Kes, who was also present at the Forkapnas Kalsul 2023 event, supported efforts to use spices as herbal drinks that are rich in benefits, such as those carried out by PEP Tarakan Field through its fostered partner, the Jaipongan group. PEP Tarakan Field is one of four fields in PHI that received the Gold PROPER award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) in 2022. Gold PROPER is given to a company that performs well in environmental management and community development.
