Pertamina EP Tarakan Field Drills the SBK PTB well in Sembakung

Sembakung, North Kalimantan - PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tarakan Field drilled the SBK PTB well in the Sembakung area, North Kalimantan Province, which was marked by thanksgiving, prayer together and giving donations to orphanages in the Tarakan and Nunukan areas (14/3/2022 ).

Acting Tarakan Field Manager, Reno Hernowo explained that SBK PTB Sembakung would be drilling to a depth of 1,200 meters, with a production target of 350 BOPD (Barrel Oil Per Day). We hope the drilling will run smoothly and safely during operations to achieve the expected target.

For the drilling of this well, Tarakan Field collaborated with PT Pertamina Drilling Service Indonesia (PDSI), a services company that is also part of Pertamina's Upstream Sub holding the business line. The rig used is the PDSI LTO-650 Rig with a capacity of 650 HP.

SBK PTB well drilling activities can be held with the synergy of all stakeholders. On this occasion, PEP Tarakan Field handed over assistance to two orphanages in Nunukan and two orphanages in Tarakan. In the future, we hope that the increase in production can give a positive impact and improvement on the economy of the community, especially in the Sembakung area.

PEP Tarakan Field is under the management of Subholding Upstream Regional 3 Kalimantan Zone 10. Production of PEP Tarakan Field currently reaches 1,892 BOPD, 748 BOPD from Tarakan Field, and 1,144 BOPD from Sembakung Field. Meanwhile, gas production in the Tarakan Field was recorded at 2,021 MMSCFD.

In 2022 Tarakan Field targets five drilling wells for new development, and is currently in the process of drilling one well. We hope that all the targets that have been set can run smoothly and fulfilled, explained Reno Hernowo.
PEP Tarakan Field will continue to synergize with all stakeholders to produce sustainable energy to support the achievement of the national target of 1 million barrels of oil per day and 12 BSCFD of gas by 2030.
