Balikpapan – PT Pertamina (Persero), as a State-Owned Enterprise that consistently encourages sustainable development practices (SDGs and ESG), actively take part in overcoming COVID-19 in Indonesia. In the series of 64th anniversary, PT Pertamina (Persero) provided educational compensation to 1,000 children who suffered from COVID-19 pandemic in the East Kalimantan region, which was held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Rocket Mahakam Club, Balikpapan.

This activity was carried out in synergy with the social service of East Kalimantan Province and the social service of Balikpapan City. Educational compensation was given symbolically to 10 representatives children from the target of 1,000 children in the East Kalimantan region, whereas PT Pertamina (Persero) targets a total distribution of 6,400 children throughout Indonesia.

The event was attend by the Director of Subholding Upstream Regional Kalimantan, Chalid Said Salim; President Director of the Pertamina Foundation, Agus Mashud; VP Production & Project Subholding Upstream, Wisnu Hindadari; General Manager of Zona 8, Agus Amperianto; HC Subholding Refinery & Petrochemical Manager, Jundan Nurbarik, Area Manager Legal & Counsel, Risnandar Halid; Manager of Engineering & Reability Subholding Integrated Marine Logistics, Lukas Gandum; Manager of Marketing Region 3, Lutfi Chaerudin, Head of Social Rehabilitation Services for East Kalimantan Province, Drs. Mohammad Suhaidy; and Head of Balikpapan City Social Rehabilitation Division, Tukiyo.

In his remarks, Chalid Said Salim said that, this activity was a form of the company's lookout for the pandemic condition in Indonesia. “This educational compensation is given to motivate children to keep their spirits up and a form of gratitude for Pertamina's various achievements at the age of 64 years. This is an endeavour for Pertamina and the Indonesian people to be better." said Chalid.

In accordance with the procedure, the activity was held with safety moment by HSSE Zona 8. The activity was closed by taking documentation of the recipients of compensation, representatives of the social service, and representatives from Pertamina. As a national oil and gas company, Pertamina continues to strive to provide additional value for all stakeholders in achieving the vision of becoming the world-class national energy company.
