Hanoi – Pertamina EP (PEP) Tarakan Field won the Gold award at the 14th Annual Global CSR Summit & Awards 2022, held in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Thursday (3/11/2022). PEP Tarakan Field received a distinction in the 'Empowering Gender Equality' category through its CSR program, the Batik Disability Joint Business Group (Kubedistik), where this program engages and empowers women in supporting the achievement of SDGs 5, namely Gender Equality.
The Annual Global CSR Award is one of the prestigious award events at the international level, which is held every year, with a selective scoring system that is participated by companies from 7 countries in the Asia Pacific region.
Manager of Communication Relations & CID Regional 3 Dony Indrawan conveyed the company's joy for the achievements and awards received by the CSR program assisted by PEP Tarakan Field. According to Dony, this award proves that the Company's CSR programs have provided tangible benefits for the community, as shown by the results of studies, program evaluations, and surveys to relevant stakeholders.
"Kubedistik is one of the leading CSR programs that has successfully empowered women and people with disabilities through batik activities. In this program, women with disabilities do environmentally friendly batik coloring with Tarakan motifs, sew and promote through social media," explained Dony.
Dony added that all batik motifs produced from Kubedistik are original works of group members inspired by oil production activities in Tarakan City or by the cultural and natural wealth of Tarakan City.
"PEP Tarakan field also provides facilities for submitting copyrights for batik motifs made. Three batik motifs have been registered successfully with Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI) from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia. Meanwhile, three other batik motifs are still in the process of being registered in 2022," he said.
