Marking a Decade of Operations, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Exceeds 2025 Oil and Gas Production Targets

Jakarta — PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) recorded positive performance throughout 2025 across the aspects of safety, operations, environment, and corporate governance. These achievements were presented at the PHI President Director’s Townhall Meeting (THM) held in Jakarta on Thursday (January 22, 2026), which also marked the celebration of PHI’s 10th anniversary under the theme “10 Years Strong for Indonesia.” Thousands of PHI attended the event–Regional 3 Kalimantan employees in a hybrid format from various work locations in Jakarta, Balikpapan, and other operational areas across East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, and South Kalimantan.

During the event, PHI President Director Sunaryanto presented the Company’s performance in safety, operations, production, finance, human capital, and community empowerment programs achieved throughout 2025. He emphasized that safety consistently remains the main foundation of all company activities. “We recorded a strong safety performance. I firmly stress that there is no production target more important than safety. In 2026, safety must continue to be the top priority in every work activity,” said Anto, Sunaryanto’s familiar nickname.

In the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) aspect, the Company recorded 41.8 million safe working hours, with NoA at 0 and a TRIR of 0.12. In the environmental aspect, the Company achieved seven Green ratings and four Blue ratings in the 2025 PROPER assessment. From an operational perspective, oil production and lifting performance exceeded established targets, reflecting effective planning, strong operational performance, and robust cross-functional collaboration within the Company.

In exploration performance, the Company achieved 100 percent of its target through drilling wells SBKD-001, MDP-1X, and SS-123, with all exploration wells making discoveries. Results above target were also recorded in the number of development well drilling, workover, and well service activities. The impact was reflected in increases in 1P reserves and 2C resources above the targets.

Meanwhile, Chairwoman of the Board of Commissioners of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), Meidawati, expressed her gratitude for the Company’s performance and the meaningful celebration of PHI’s 10-year journey in supporting national energy security. She said that this decade represents a long journey marked by hard work, collaboration, and shared achievements by all employees. “Today, we give thanks to Allah SWT as PHI has reached its 10th anniversary. This is not a short journey of achievement, and all these accomplishments are the result of strong communication and cooperation among all parties,” she stated.

Meidawati also conveyed her appreciation for the various achievements throughout 2025. According to her, PHI delivered strong performance worthy of pride, particularly in oil and gas production. “I extend my highest appreciation for the achievement of oil and gas production performance that exceeded the RKAP, or the Company’s Work Plan and Budget,” she said.

Regarding HSSE, Meidawati stated that safety performance within the Company’s environment remains well maintained. She also emphasized the importance of strengthening asset reliability and securing operational areas so that all activities run more safely and reliably. “I never tire of reminding everyone that the safety culture must continue to be socialized and truly understood and implemented, from top leadership to frontliners in the field,” she stressed. She hoped that the momentum of this 10th anniversary would further strengthen the spirit of all PHI personnel to continue improving performance, maintaining workplace safety, and delivering their best contributions to Indonesia’s energy security.

At this event, Anto also expressed his appreciation to all employees for their dedication and resilience in maintaining operational reliability amid the complexity of mature fields. “Oil and gas production remains sustained, facilities operate reliably, and energy supply from Kalimantan continues to flow thanks to the discipline, care, and sense of responsibility of all Perwira. This is not the result of one person’s work or one function alone, but the collective effort of all elements of the organization and workforce,” he added.

Entering 2026, Anto reaffirmed PHI’s commitment to continue prioritizing safety, profitable investment, and strong governance as the foundation for sustainability, in line with the spirit of “10 Years Stronger” and PHI’s vision to continue supporting national energy security in the decades to come.
