Semarang – PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) successfully received five awards at the Eco Tech Pioneer and Sustainability Award (EPSA) 2024, organized by the Environmental Engineering Department of Diponegoro University, for various innovations in environmentally friendly technology. EPSA recognizes companies committed to creating technological innovations to protect and preserve the environment.
PHSS brought home four Gold awards and achieved the highest honor, the Best Award, at the ceremony held at Hotel Tentrem, Semarang, on August 31. Out of seven categories contested, PHSS won four Gold awards in the categories of Green Power Innovation, Eco-Cycle Innovation, Hydro Smart Innovation, and Ecosystem Protection. PHSS’s innovations were deemed outstanding in several categories, earning them the Best Award.
PHSS Field Manager, Iva Kurnia Mahardi, expressed her gratitude and pride for the award received by the Company. “We are very grateful for the Best Award given to PHSS. This award is an important recognition of the hard work and innovation we have done in helping to preserve the environment,” she said.
Iva added that this award is an encouragement for PHSS workers to continue creating innovations that support sustainability aspects. “We hope that these programs can run sustainably and continue to inspire other parties to collaborate in protecting the environment,” said Iva.
In the Green Power Innovation category, PHSS's innovation featured the "Semberah Flare Gas Recovery Compressor," designed as a replacement for the main compressor with low power but high mobility. This recovery compressor can serve as an alternative if the main compressor experiences issues to avoid gas flaring. Next, in the Eco-Cycle Innovation category, PHSS won an award for the project "Recycling Ship Rope Waste Using a Rope Spinning Device," an initiative aimed at recycling ship rope waste into useful and environmentally friendly products.
The next award was in the Hydro Smart Innovation category, where PHSS optimized well water utilization with smart and efficient technology through the project "Restriction Orifice Application on Water Well." The fourth award was secured by PHSS in the Ecosystem Protection category through the project "Conservation of Dead Land Using Agroforestry Methods at Bukit Soeharto Grand Forest Park," focusing on land conservation efforts using an agroforestry approach to protect ecosystems and improve the quality of degraded land.
The five awards at EPSA 2024 further solidify PHSS's position as a company that focuses not only on business aspects but also on innovations that support economic sustainability and environmental preservation.
