Muara Badak, Kutai Kartanegara – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) held a friendly sports event featuring a mini soccer match with the Subdistrict Leadership Communication Forum/Forum Komunikasi Pimpinan Kecamatan (Forkopimcam), Village Governments, and Village Consultative Bodies/Badan Permusyawaratan Desa (BPD) in Muara Badak District, Kutai Kartanegara. The friendly match, held in Samarinda on October 18, 2025, aimed to strengthen ties between PHM and stakeholders across the company’s operational areas, particularly at the North Processing Unit (NPU), Central Processing Unit (CPU), and Pipeline Operations Maintenance Agreement (POMA) sites.
Head of Communication Relations & CID PHM, Achmad Krisna Hadiyanto, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining strong, harmonious relationships with stakeholders across its operational areas in Kalimantan to support sustainable oil and gas production, which is vital to national energy security. “This friendly sports event serves as a platform to build positive relationships and collaboration between the company and stakeholders, particularly local governments and communities,” Achmad said.
He added that, as one of Indonesia’s largest oil and gas producers, PHM relies on support from all stakeholders to help ensure the safety and security of upstream oil and gas operations, which are a national vital object, thereby sustaining production continuity. “Through joint sports activities like this, we have an opportunity to enhance mutual understanding of the upstream oil and gas industry and its benefits for society, the nation, and the state,” he continued.
In his remarks, Head of the Governance Section of Muara Badak District, Tri Haryono, expressed that the activity was very beneficial in strengthening synergy with PHM and hoped that similar initiatives would continue next year. This year’s event marked the second year of the friendly sports activity.
Echoing this sentiment, Muara Badak Subdistrict Head, Arpan, said the event was both memorable and effective in fostering stronger relationships between PHM and local stakeholders, particularly the district government, village heads, and BPD leaders.
Throughout the event, safety remained the top priority to ensure that activities ran smoothly and securely. Despite the rain, participants maintained high enthusiasm and sportsmanship until the final whistle. The entire event proceeded safely and orderly, supported by optimal implementation of safety and health procedures.
“Through this event, PHM reaffirms its commitment to continuously strengthen collaboration with stakeholders, build harmonious relationships, and ensure safe, sustainable upstream oil and gas operations that deliver real value to communities around its operational areas,” Achmad concluded.
