Jakarta—PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) once again achieved recognition in the prestigious Serikat Perusahaan Pers (SPS) Awards 2024 by winning two awards in the categories of Indonesia Inhouse Magazine Awards (InMA) and Indonesia Digital Media Awards (IDMA) as Silver Winners on April 30th. The awards were attained in the Best Corporate Internal Magazine Subcategory for the fifth edition of Energia Kalimantan Magazine and the Best Corporate Website.

Dony Indrawan, manager of Communication Relations and CID at PHI, revealed that the awards in the SPS Awards event recognize the quality of the company's communication channels. "In the era of digitalization, PHI strives to continually adapt to the times through creative, informative, and relevant communication channels, making it easier for stakeholders to find the latest information about the company," explained Dony.

The jury panel for this year's SPS Awards includes Advisory Board Members of the Indonesian PR Companies Association, Jojo S Nugroho, Creative Director of DM ID Group, Mas Sulistyo, Secretary General of SPS Pusat, Asmono Wikan, Kompas Daily Photo Journalist, Agus Susanto, Communication Science Lecturer from Atma Jaya University, Nia Sarinastiti, Chair of the Press Ethics Complaint Commission at the Press Council, Yadi Hendriana, and former photo editor of Antara News Agency, Hermanus Prihatna.

This year's SPS Awards featured five categories: Indonesia Print Media Awards (IPMA), Indonesia Inhouse Magazine Awards (InMA), Indonesia Young Readers Awards (IYRA), Indonesia Students Media Awards (ISMA), and Indonesia Digital Media Awards (IDMA), with a total of 719 entries. This award event is a form of appreciation for outstanding journalistic work from mass media, campus press, and corporations/institutions throughout Indonesia. This year marks the 15th edition of the SPS Awards.

Chairman of SPS, Januar P. Ruswita, stated that the SPS Awards 2024 further emphasizes the role of the press in building democracy. The press serves as an information dissemination institution for the public, representing the functions of control and critique and providing space for public participation. "The press is an essential element in supporting democracy. Therefore, the existence of a healthy press in terms of business and products is imperative to realize a strong democracy," he added. SPS Awards 2024 carries the theme "Healthy Press, Strong Democracy." SPS is the oldest press company organization, established 78 years ago, and most of its members are print media companies.
